"How do we know there won't be savages on the island?"

"We don't, but through the simple act of comparing the size of the two its certain that the island can't hold as many savages as the mainland. Well that and even if there are some there we only need to cleanse the island of them once, on the mainland if we alert the locals and end up in a war with them it'll be a never ending influx of barbarians throwing themselves at our mortal followers in the hopes of gaining glory. By bringing up that question you reveal that you are simply ignoring the flaws of your choice since the bay area can also have savages, so why is the presence of locals only now a part of your concerns?

If you want to question the 'if's of it all then let me point out that the bay has far more unknown variables than the island due to its size, its connection to the greater part of the New World, and the sheer fact that it's suspicious that such a decent plot of land is unclaimed.

Wherever we look there is the chance of danger, but the island provides the lesser of the three dangers as far as we are able to tell."

Turn 1: Democracy In Action

Scoreboard
Site A: 3
Site B: 5
Site C: 0

By a slight majority, Site B has been chosen. With the site chosen, the mortals have began the tedious work of building the colony and scouting out the surrounding area. As of today, the gods have full power to do as they wish within the limits of Her Majesty's laws, of course.

Further exploration of the island has revealed a population of seabirds nesting sites as well as tin deposits. The island probably contains more resources, but more surveying needs to be conducted to find out.

"Hmmm, a new land means the potential of new flora and fauna ... maybe something interesting will come along for me to study. However, the mortals will need to be able to record and pass information of this land on in a fitting matter, perhaps I should give them a bit of aid in that area."

Venlan said as he strolled towards the center of the growing colony with his book in hand, open to a page depicting a group of well dressed humans gathered around a blue crystal that seemed to be projecting words into the air in front of it alongside a map of some unknown continent. A smiled spread across Venlan's face at the sight, and he came to a halt before speaking aloud,

"This should work as inspiration though a few changes are in order. Well then, consider this my first gift ..."

With that Venlan closed the book with an audible snap that seemed to turn into the sound of the earth cracking as the ground in front of his feet shattered slightly giving flow to a cyan liquid that surged upwards quickly beginning to form a rather crude crystal the size of two men. Venlan infused the entirety of his power into the crystal shaping it to record information that has been willingly given, and to show it others who come to the crystal seeking knowledge.

With the crystal finished Venlan opened his book once more revealing a page with densely packed grey letters, and the image of a knight fighting a three headed snake.

"Let this crystal be a sign of aid to you all, I name it the Stone of Remembrance meant to collect the knowledge willingly given by others and then allow it to be studied by others who come seeking answers or knowledge of the world we have come to. With it your children will be able to understand this new world we've come to, you will able to use it to weigh on whether the item you seek is of use, and simply to obtain information you simply didn't know before. It is free for all to use though those who dare use it to manipulate others will be punished, the rest is up to you."

Spend 10 Essence to create the Stone of Remembrance. It is a crystal meant to record information willingly given by people, and then display information on what is being searched for in pictures and words to those seeking answers.

Well if it isn't the second of our two crazed passengers. I really do love a matching set. Tuerrot grins, it is well know that he does quite enjoy the madman's and the jester's company. He even tries to make jokes every once in a while, but it mostly comes out as gallows humor. Tell me of the trip my friend.

Yeah, it was a rather relaxing trip wasn't it. All in all, that's about what Tuerrot expected.

Rénadh attunes himself to the local ecosystem. He feels the pulse of the lifeblood of the animals, the silent snores of the plants. He probes them, examines them, feels them, becomes them. He gains a true understanding of the local flora and fauna.

"Na ainmhithe agus na plandaí, tá mé an dá." He chanted, attuning his essence to the essence of nature present.

{Rénadh investigates thoroughly the local flora and fauna. 1A}

After having investigated the flora and fauna, Rénadh decides that the people of the island may fall victim to poor health. He pulls a shard from his gemstaff and breathes upon it. He infuses it with his essence and energy, breathing the life of nature and divinity into it. He gives it as a gift to the farmers, appearing in their seed bags spontaneously, distinguished with a soft green gleam and shine. The seed itself would grow into a mighty tree, whose fruit would confer good health to those who eat it.

"In my honor, name the tree Rénadhasaol. That they who eat of it may find themselves in good health."

{Rénadh creates a seed which, after growing into a tree, confers health benefits to those who eat its fruit. The health benefits improve general health, not anything extreme like saving mortally injured people or even curing illnesses. 2A+E $$$}

Mordric sat on a rock on the edge of the island, watching the waves crash up against the shore as the sun went down. Sighing theatrically he murmured to himself "Ahhhh.... Such a boring place. Too bad when prudence overcomes adventure fun dies!"

Springing upward he turns and watches the mortals working on the start of their town, watching them labor to raise the walls and lay the foundations of their buildings.

"Ahhhh.... But fun certainly won't die. Mortals can't live on stout labor and bread alone after all!" With a renewed spring in his step Mordric strode back into town, it was time to spread some mirth.

As the colony is set up Mordric takes hand in making sure that the budding town has it's fair share of entertainment. Establishing alehouses and gambling dens, whorehouses and plazas where street performers can act. Anything that he thinks could cause people to relax and carouse! On them all he places his Icon. The dens of entertainment shall be his temples, the entertainers and servers his priesthood, and the message to the budding colony is clear! Drink and be merry at the Temples of the Jester! Relaxation is a prayer and laughter is a hymen, spend your hard earned money on this god, worship a god with something fun! From a drink to a show to a fuck! - 1 A???

Though it all Mordric would lay his blessings upon the icons he bestowed onto the buildings. If the icon is in plain sight those within the buildings for shorter periods of time (so, not those who actually work and live in them) would find their worries eased and their burdens weighing less upon them. Perhaps not enough to truly bring happiness to a person with bad problems or depression but making these places the ideal areas to relax after a days work. ((Effectively a trinket for a population unit, the proprietors of entertainment, that gives them a trait that raises the moral of others? I'm not 100% sure how all the systems work as of yet, so hopefully I'm doing this right.)) (Trinket 1E)+([Moral Booster][1.5]/2)=1.75E+1A Moral Booster effect trinket

Talon stands in the center of the village, watching the mortals raise structures and begin to buzz around the empty land like bees. He chuckles under his breath, glance at Mordric for a second.

"Ah, how I missed this."

He glances at the work crew building up one of the buildings, and flicks a finger at one of the workers. The laborer drops his bundle of planks, covering his ears, and drops to the floor. The other men nearby slowly back away, glancing at Talon, before returning to their work like nothing happened. Talon doesn't seem to be speaking in response to the poor man's words, but instead seems to be...projecting.

"What is your name, mortal?"

"Hamilton...er...John Hamilton, sir."

"Hmm...ambitious, strong...young....he will do."

The laborer suddenly springs to his feet, sprinting away into the forest. One of his fellows would begin to yell after him, only to quickly shut his mouth once he remembers who's standing right next to him. The young man would disappear into the trees, emerging a few minutes later. He'd be "carrying" a long, silvery sword, although it would look more like he's being dragged by said weapon. Despite digging his feet into the sod, the sword would eventually bring him before Talon.

The god grabbed the sword away from the poor man, shaking his head as he collapsed, before lightly tapping him with the flat of the blade. "Congratulations, Hamilton. You have moved up in the world."

There is only one certain thing in this life, and that it will end in a death. For each life, there is a death. It is prudent to be prepared to face it when your time comes. However, what is more important is to comfort those left behind. We cannot fear death anymore than we can fear tomorrow, yet to those who must face tomorrow without a loved one, that sunrise may be horrifying. This is a harsh reality I know only too well. It is time to prepare for the future.

Tuerrot looks among the mortals until he finds the one he is looking for.

Tom Redroot. I have come for you. You are to be my agent, and a comfort to all those around you. You will administer burial rights, spread the good word, and provide various other services for the masses. When Tom moves to object to the position, Tuerrot cuts him off. There are worse fates Tom. Teurrot grins, Tom audibly gulps.

Spoiler: Tom Redroot (click to show/hide)

Foresight is the key to the future. To be prepared is to turn that key and unlock a better future. In my case, it is a simple matter, eventually my job will be required. Best to be prepared.

Tuerrot uses the remainder of his power to create a shrine for the general populace to use. Here people may make offerings and pray to Tuerrot in the hope to stave off death. It is also to be used as a ceremonial cite for funerals, marriages, and other official ceremonies. Most of which pay some homage to the resident death god, which is in this case Tuerrot. As such, they are normally officiated by an agent of said god.

This shrine will serve as a place of both sombriety and of joy for the people of this colony. Here two lives will become one and men and women will remember those whom they love once they have moved on.

Spoiler: Ceremonial Shrine (click to show/hide)

Create an agent (4.55E + 2I) and create a shrine/amphitheater (3.75E)
