"Aye, though it may be that the grasslands be best to settle, we must secure a foothold here first. It is folly to charge unprepared into the desert, but not even the deserts could withstand the prepared individual. The island allows us to grow in relative peace for a time, then once upon we are prepared, we may storm the mainland and make this land ours." Rénadh, having a change of heart, voices his opinion.

"Oh tut tut little one!" Mordric decries as he jumps down from the mast, acrobatically flipping in the air before landing on his feet among the other gods amidst the jingling of his bells, arms outstretched. He pauses, looking around for applause, before moving on with his speech. "I could understand if one such as yourself" he starts, pursing his lips as he mimes holding a book out in front of him and flipping the pages "Might find the idea of some dirty savages soiling your robe distasteful or even scary! But why else would we bring such slabs of meat" at this Mordric spins around and slides closer to Talon, his arms outstretched he puts his palms facing each other near Talons biceps and widens the distance between them as if to indicate great size... Before sliding behind Talon and squeezing his palms together behind his head as he wiggles his eyebrows "If not to protect us from all such worries?! Besides! we must eventually confront them! Let us do so quickly, before they organize!"

So it seems that at this point in time Rénadh, Venlan, Talon, and I are all in favor of site B. Whereas Wood Opal, Mordric, and Nogal are for Site A. Yelagi and Ged have yet to voice an opinion.  Mordric, is that a fair assumption? To say you are for site A that is. The emaciated god's face was difficult to read, but perhaps a hint of amusement was lurking there somewhere.

"Ah! Yes! Certainly I vote for site A! Indeed! Indubitably! However, I do not think that only two having not voted is a fair assumption at all! For I know at least one more that should certainly get a vote in this matter!" At this Mordric reached into his loose Jesters suit and pulled out a crudely made cloth puppet. Slotting it over his right hand and covering his mouth with his left he raised it up and asked "And what do you think Mister Bojohn? Where should we settle!?" With his hand working it a voice that sounds suspiciously like Mordrics own pitches fourth "Well obviously you idiot! We should settle the swamp." "Yes yes see! A... The swamp? What? No one wants to live there!" Mordric says, shock showing in his eyes. "Yeah! Hopefully you'll catch leporsy and your arm will fall off so I can go free!" "Leporsy doesn't grow in swamps!... Err...." At this Mordric leans over towards Venlan "Does it?" "Hey! Wait! That doesn't matter! Your suppose to vote for what I want! Damn unloyal puppet!" At this Mordric smashes his hand Bojohn against the railing a few times, before bringing him upright and shaking him about some. "And there's more where that came from if you don't agree!" Swaying back and forth slightly Mordric Bojohn groans back "Augh! Fine! Fine! Whatever! lets settle site A then you big bully!" Mordric snatches his left hand away from his face as a smile erupts and he turns to the assembled gods. "So. Sorry you had to see that get violent. But hey! A tie vote! And as we all know, with a tie the first option wins."

It seems safe to say that Wood Opal does not know how to react to this situation.

Mordric slides across the deck back to Talon and throws a (puppetless) arm across his shoulders. "Aye, that it does my friend. Not something I'm personally a fan of" Mordric says; sighing dramatically "But those damn puppet unions got us by the balls. We're all truely in their floppy cloth clutches." "Floppy!?!? That's Racism!" railsmack railsmack railsmack railsmack

Well that is incredibly interesting, and actually kinda funny, but for now lets get the input of the last two gods. Then we will open the voting floor to puppet officials for them to debate amongst themselves.

"The carpenter does not build a house by refusing to consult the mason, or ignoring the engineer. Nor does he neglect the work of the smith who forges his nails, or the alchemist his lacquer. Strife begets nought but strife. Debate may be profitable, but at the moment it is best for us to find agreement, rather than discord.

I cast my vote, such as it is, in favor of the first site, around the bay. So long as we take adequate precautions, I believe it is manageable, with adequate precautions, to hold off the inhabitants, and the location will provide a good foundation with which to build the colony. I would take little issue with the island, however, should it fall through.

But...this is an assembly of gods, not mortals, nor puppets, and I would ask Mordric not to make light of it by acting as though it were otherwise. The Empress granted no writ of worship to the tools of your trade. Only to you.

"You seem to be assuming he was suggesting the puppet be worshiped when the Jester is very clearly the one doing the work, after all writ of worship or not we all understand that this is an assignment more born from exile, or desperation than actual use to the Empress. You would figure for a man of such flowery words you could distinguish between a man making a joke, and an immortal attempting to force some poor fools to worship a sock, an act I'm fairly sure even Mordric isn't going to stoop to though perhaps since you had the idea you mean to see if the common folk are willing to worship puppets made of flowery words?

At last though it seems you all wish to throw caution to the wind, when our colony is in flames and the people who worship us lying dead I'll refrain from pointing out the flaws in your thoughts."

With a sigh Velan opened his book once more, and seemed to ignore the others for whatever was written within.

All things die Velan, if it were not so then I would not be here. Our colony will have its time, and its end, but harsh words like those will only shorten one and hasten the other.  A god of your intellect knows this, and yet here these words are. I wonder; what force could be clouding that brilliant mind of yours that could allow such as this to spew forth from your lips?

Wood Opal clears her throat. "Um... I don't mean to insinuate anything, but it seems like the people in favor of the island seem... a bit angry? I-I know they just want to keep us safe, but they seem... a bit angry."

There seems to be a personality difference behind the site choice.

"Angry is one word for it, what do you expect when I had to leave my library behind in the Empire for this assignment. Countless books, and a comfortable study replaced with a land filled with savages who would like to dine on my immortal flesh so do forgive my rather reluctant, and mildly sour view on your rather strange choice on the colonists destination. The plains will still be there for us to claim after we have established a fortified and stable position on the island which, by its nature of being separate from the mainland, would be far easier to defend against the savages, cannibals, and whatever monstrosities await us in this new land.

As for the comment on death, I plan to live forever Tuerott so death can get in line behind time and fight each other to see who can claim me first."
