"A matter I will ponder deeply with my now extended life, of that I am sure."

"Not only that, but now instead of him feeling guilty for having hugged my bones into a fine powder, he will instead have the neutral feeling of me apologizing later."

He hands the now idle slime to BE, it has a vacant, adorable expression.

"For someone who works in the heroing business, you seem far too fond of self-preservation."
Argent's tone is neutral. This is helped by the fact that their voice is modulated and sounds almost robotic. Or is it the armour?

BE examines the slime, aka looks at it blankly. With his own no eyes.
He then hugs Contagion so hard the gas-masked hero splits in half, and turns to face everyone else menacingly nods and makes a noise about that not being his name.

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

BE is delighted and Gerald is immediately accosted by large amounts of lavender lizard. The hug is... actually not that bad, if indeed a little tight.

"I am merely the second in a series of three heroes, those willing to sacrifice their lives, those who live so they may do more overall, and those who neither die nor compromise.  Some of us know we can do more good by living to fight more of the good fight, some know to lay down their lives in the greater good, some have the means to do both and get away with it.  In my case though, it is completely selfish,  I must survive to grow in power for now, and the world benefits from my continued existance.  In the end, it matters not to me so long as I am the greatest summoner."

"Eh, it's hardly like every hero should be obligated to sacrifice themselves. It's a pretty big thing to ask of someone, after all."

"It's less that, and more that a hero should stand their ground when defending others, even with risk to their lives. It takes more than power to make a hero."
Argent, again, sounds neutral.

"If I live longer, I help more people, outside of truly extraneous circumstances, and I get to live longer and become stronger and wiser to boot."

"You say that. Perhaps you will be thrown into a situation where there is no such option. I hope you can find another option when that time comes."

"Alright, well... I don't fully believe either of you two, honestly. I mean, the whole "helping more people" thing is clearly only a secondary thing there, but... "being a hero" is an awfully wide thing, frankly. There are lots of people out here fighting villains and monsters (uh, no offense large lizard guy?) but few people have the same reasons. Some folks didn't even decide to come into the, uh... business? Profession? Alright, no doesn't quite... ah, alright. Some folks didn't even decide to go into the whole hero thing in the first place, maybe circumstances pushed them into it, you know? That's how powers go a lot. Some folks are in here because it was only one of two ways to go and the other involves smashing things, but it doesn't make them bad people, or not really heroes, right? They're still out here saving people."

"You make a valid point and I hold a similar stance. As I said, I do not expect someone to give their lives in battle to protect others. I do expect that a hero will not run when faced with the options of 'escape' or 'hold their ground' when others would be in danger if they chose the former."
