Martijn watches the lightning-quick reactions of the beast, and sends a quick prayer to the heavens for the luck of the others. Cursing himself for losing his daggers, he picks them up and tries to prepare them for throwing.

((Seriously, though, when do I get an attack which is not "throw dagger X100." :/

It's getting slightly old.))

((Dunno! Probably when you get your next feat I guess. Pick up some weapon proficiency in something melee-oriented.))

((He could have taken a rapier. But he didn't. He also has a quarterstaff, and he can also do melee attacks with his daggers (though he doesn't have weapon finesse so he'll have a hard time hitting anything). And I can see how Bouchart was a little miffed about playing a rogue now. Don't forget that flanking can cause you to get massive damage))

You pick up your daggers in a hurry.

The snake hisses as it bites deep into Vorlak, biting deep into his flesh and dealing (18) damage and coils around the eidolon, trapping him. Vorlak looks badly wounded and cannot move!

Ritiki begins his turn!

((you can still stab with your two daggers))

Ritiki stands his ground and fires his crossbow!
You fire your crossbow! (3+5) Your bolt skids off of his scales, barely harming him!

Varg swings his axe and his axe misses completely! ((Oh dear god these rolls are tanking suddenly. I think the dice gods gave me a curse that's spreading to you guys...))

Arioch begins his turn!

"Do we want to let him bleed out or something? Do we even have time for that?"

Shoot and reload at the snake.

Vorlak attacks with power attack.

((That's one thing 4e did right - everyone has a variety of moves and options. As it is, low level it really is mostly swinging a weapon once a round. Once multiple attacks a round are viable or the feats are available for combat maneuvers, it should be more interesting. As it is, Jehane is a caster and still mostly just swings at things.))

((The only reason I would want to deviate from my shoot/attack combo attack with Vorlak is if I wanted to mess around with something. Like playing with my food or interacting with the environment.))

((4E also had too many moves though, which is why it becomes a burden to set up without tools. Pathfinder, to me at least at higher levels, is almost as hard. Not to mention if you pick a non-basic class, like kineticist or vigilante, it becomes so confusing. I had to level up my kineticist 4 levels after killing 2 level 20 liches and a balor lord and I spent an hour gonig over feats alone, not to mention the buttload of abilities they have and also my expanded element pretty much doubled my options since I just got that then as well in those levels. I think the easiest to set up, so far as I see it, is 5e. Sadly, its still simplified like 4e was, but they managed to steer it so its 3.5 and 4e's lovechild. My only gripe so far with 5e is it isn't as extravagant and the only thing stoppig a level 1-4 from killing a CR7 by themselves is HP. Everything is so squished together though, that some classes can kill most encounters by themselves. Barbarian is a great example. A level 2 barbarian went and fought a CR5 Orc chieftan who was at full health (barbarian who would become the infamous Tyson-Chan the Gnome Barbarian was at half health) in single combat and Tyson-chan won. I literally threw my entire stack of papers for the cheiftan to become a returning boss into the air and flipped a chair because it was so ridiculous.

Needless to say, the next few sessions seemed a little more cruel than usual))

"Do we want to let him bleed out or something? Do we even have time for that?"

Shoot and reload at the snake.

Vorlak attacks with power attack.

(7+4) Your bolt skids off of his hide. You just can't seem to get a good shot in and hitting Vorlak (and not hurting the snake)

Vorlak tries to break free! (17+2) (Escape Artist) Vorlak gives one good push but still fails to break the anaconda's grip ((I rolled so high for the check that I don't think anyone could have gotten out this time around without a crit))

Jehane begins her turn!

((How the hell did you beat two level 20 casters at a point where killing them would pump you up four levels? I can think of half a dozen ways one alone could be loaded out that would utterly wreck any party of characters.))

Jehane glares at the snake and tries to take advantage of it coiling around Vorlak, swinging at the body near the eidolon in the hopes it couldn't squirm away.

((I'm at work so I can't update but I can explain.

Level 11 and kineticists are OP. Their basic blast attack as a fire based kineticist does 1d6+1/2 con mod and increases every two levels. Since they're con based, it's gonna be high. Then their compound blast is doubled of that, so 2d6+1/2 con mod every 2 levels beyond first. So at level 11, I have 8d6+1/2 con damage alone. I got quickened blast which lets me do another blast as a bonus action, so that's 2 blasts of that level, plus added effects like t burns through any fire resistance they have equal to the damage.

Then they have empowered blast which adds 50% damage to the attack and then maximized blast, which maximizes the damage rolls. So add that all together and that's every turn (I take buttloads of non-lethal damage but that's the least of my worries with 170+ hp). So needless to say, I deal the most damage in one single attack as a kineticist. Problem is, I don't get multiple blasts without them weakening to being at first level and if they're fire immune, I'm screwed. Liches aren't fire immune, and if I happen to crit, I'm obliterating something (and in that encounter I did... To an ally thanks to a custom spell that the guy put). They're kinda balanced because they can only do so many cool things per day due to burn and most times, you run out of HP before you run out of burn))
