BOSS BATTLE: MEGATRON
THEME: TRANSFORMERS DEVASTATION - FINAL BOSS THEME
Anna dashes for Megatron, the tip of the Vindicator extended forward towards the Decepticon, gleaming in the artificial light that pours through the tall windows on the sides of the warehouse. About twenty meters before she reaches Megatron, Anna thrusts her halberd into the ground, improvising a pole-vault out of it, her forward momentum carrying her upwards rather than directly at Megatron. She sails over him in an arc, easily clearing his 9-foot stature, and she turns around to stab him in the back of his neck, Megatron is on the other side of the warehouse. Despite only looking away from him for a half-second, the robot master was able to somehow clear enough distance to render her melee attack totally void. Surprised but not stunned, Anna reflexively switches the Vindicator to machine-gun mode and fires both of her guns at Megatron, who is somehow prepared for the uncanny transformation despite never seeing it before. As the bullets spin from her guns-akimbo, Megatron runs at a perpendicular angle, dashing up the walls at a diagonal angle as Anna attempts to trail him with her guns. Not only perceptive, Megatron is also fast,
really fast; each of Anna's bullets hit the wall at a spot where she is sure that if Megatron was a single nano-mile slower, he would have gotten hit. When all of her current ammunition is spent, Megatron is standing in the middle of the ceiling upside-down.
Lynch, deprived of any ranged weaponry, is left to improvise. Looking for something to use as a weapon, he spots a wooden pallet nearby and runs towards it, picking up the structure. With a heaving toss like he was tossing a sack of rocks, Lynch launches the pallet at the ceiling-centered Megatron. The Decepticon glances at the flying projectile and just before it strikes him his outstretched open left hand grabs the pallet out of the air, completely halting its momentum. He flings it at Anna, not even looking at her direction, and the agile Hunter is able to dodge it quit easily with a simple backwards leap. However, the pallet does not smash into the ground, instead suddenly shifting directions as if every single vector in it had just completely changed and moving horizontally at Anna, managing to strike her if not out of speed, then just sheer craftiness in possessing agility far greater than a normal pallet. Anna is thrown against the side of the warehouse, denting the concrete but not breaking through it. During her recovery, Anna wondered if maybe this meant Megatron has psychokinesis.
The Patapon are bolstered by Volx's Instinct of the Guardian, the Tribe now bouncing around excitedly (more than usual) as they are filled with a burst of preemptive knowledge and energy from the spirit; they now emanated a faint aura, perceptible to those were able to sense such things. Megatron probably was, because as soon as the buff had been prepared the football-cyborg launches himself from the roof down towards the Patapon. The Tribe disperses, leaving a blank space without a target for Megatron to land in. Megatron looks around, his targets having somehow managed to outmaneuver someone as cunning as he, causing him to swipe both of his claw-like appendages around his body, arcing them towards the ground to strike the Donchaka, but each individual tribesmemeber ducks or weaves his/her out of harms way. They counter-attack, a blind flurry of small arrows and spears being launched at Megatron, bouncing off of his armor. Megatron takes a moment to stare at the Tribe as they pelt him with ammunition before stomping on the ground, not aiming at them in particular but at the floor under his feet, creating a shockwave powerful enough to send the circle of tribespeople around him flying in every direction.
After scattering the Tribe, Megatron continues onward, and he passes Volx he casts a peculiar gaze at the energy being now in the form of a Patapon drum, a gaze that mixes disdain with condensation. Not only is Megatron very much aware of Volx's true identity, it's as if he is sending a non-verbal message, one that says, "What are you doing here? Trying to accomplish something?" Volx, if it didn't already hypothesizes this, knew that this was no normal football player.
Garnt shakes his head as Megatron ominously comes closer, not out of fear but simply because he knew he
was getting way too old for this shit. What's the deal with all these future weirdos and their robots things and cyborg friends? What ever happened to the old fashioned way of animating a Golem and making it do your work for its indefinitely long existence? The Undead conjures a Lightning Spear in his head and chucks it at the robot, who twists his torso in order to dodge the lightning attack that dissipates upon contact with the ceiling in a brief electrical storm.
Megatron's right shoulder opens up into a compartment containing a mounted rocket-launcher, aiming at Garnt. The veteran fighter throws prepares to parry but the Decepticon does not fire when it is distracted by a new entity, Sandra, whom he has inadvertently positioned himself next to. Megatron disregards Garnt in favor of Sandra, who is backing away and holding an empty syringe as the weapon to defeat a 9-foot tall cyborg. Megatron reaches down and gently wraps the tips of his left claw around the top-end of her dress, around where he neck was, and pulls her up. She now faces him eye-to-eye, each of Meagtron's pulsating and flaring eyes just about as big as her head. Sandra adopts the combat strategy of shivering very hard and sweating profusely, her signature technique making her as intimidating as a two-legged baby giraffe. Megatron walks off to the side of the warehouse and carefully places Sandra on a raised platform about 12 feet off the ground, far away from the fighting, in the manner of someone placing a valued trinket upon a shelf.
With the combined efforts of Volx and the Donchaka, Aesford has regained enough strength to haggardly hobble back through the hole in the side of the warehouse, his blue-and-green uniform now grey with the amount of dust and debris coating him.
"Hey guys....let's....let's....hey, there's Mega Calvin....let's show him who's...the boss..." Aesford pulls out the 12th Man and activates the energy sword once more, swinging it by his side like a drunk with his bottle of train liquor as he half-conscious shambles towards Megatron. When Aesford is close enough, Megatron kneels down, turns around and uppercuts Aesford with his closed giant hand, sending the Seahawk Paladin through the roof this time, netting the warehouse its second hole; the 12th Man scitters across the floor, buzzing aimlessly. A few seconds later and Aesford falls down through the ceiling and onto his back with an audible crack. Megatron scratches his chin with the claw of his left hand, as if he had a robotic beard.
"And to think my dear Aesford, that would have recruited the interdimensional equivalent of the Seahawks; instead, you have just created the Cleveland Browns once again. How characteristic."Megatron's opens his left palm over Aesford's supine figure, the center of the palm opening up to a barrel which begins to colate with dark, swirling purple matter. Even for those who hailed from a universe without charging energy beam attacks, the implications of this move were obvious.
