The bar still looks seedy and slightly run down. But, apparently the drinks are still very cheap.

Mona's wares are vastly strange and extravagant.

Alan did notice the magic going off. He noticed it by the large resounding boom he heard in his head that was strong enough to floor him. He can't tell where it came from, but it was certainly used by a very powerful Mage.
