"Perhaps, but a Lord is meant to be an example to the smallfolk of civilisation and honour. It's no dignified thing to be tramping about, dripping blood like some savage beast."

[SOLDIER First]

". . .Huh?"

"Er, of course. Right away, Lord Chalco..!"

The mage quickly scrambles off after Prince Titon for water.

"You also could have gotten the water yourself instead of sending him off to do your work."

[Xanmyral]

"OY! GALEN! You gonna TAKE THAT from COPPER TOP? HAVE some SELF-RESPECT! Make 'em get his OWN WATER!" Titus shouted after Galen.

[SOLDIER First]

Galen stops halfway and looks hesitantly at the three.

"Hmmph. Boy looked like he needed something to do."

"OY! GALEN! You gonna TAKE THAT from COPPER TOP? HAVE some SELF-RESPECT! Make 'em get his OWN WATER!" Titus shouted after Galen.

"Hmmph. At least he knows something of respect for his betters, you vile mass. I'm neither interested in you nor your inability to speak like someone who wasn't kicked in the head by a horse, so go bellow at sand dunes or whatever it is blaggards like you do."

Galen stops halfway and looks hesitantly at the three.

"Either do it or don't, boy, but stop hovering around like a whipped cur."

[Xanmyral]

"Oooh, and WHAT? You just want to LOOK PRETTY and STAND there, BLINDING PASSERS with your OWN SELF-IMPORT and OVER-POLISHED BRASS?" The blaggard raised a hand in front of his face and squinted at the bronze statue, as if staring at the sun. "Or has your BLOOD turned so BLUE it FROZE in yer VEINS?"

"GALEN! Don't let him INSULT ya like THAT! GET yer OWN WATER an' ONLY THAT!"

[GiglameshDespair]

"Ha! I suppose the light of civilisation is always blinding to you kinds of vermin." He moved on to cleaning one of his greaves. "I'm cleaning my armour, as one should after a battle, you wretch, and you're merely standing and shouting, trying to foster disrespect like you foster your stench. The only insult that's being given here is the insult you give to the notion of there being something betwixt your ears but blubber and skull."

Santoku grunted as Cyrus and Titus helped him up. "Thanks guys. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to retrieve something of mine." With that, Santoku left to dig around the bandit's complex. He returned shortly.

"Finally! What's mine is mine once again."

"So, what brings you all out here? Kind of out of the way of most places near as I can tell."

[Swordstar]

Iolani gave Santoku a once over and sighed.

"I think I preferred without the coat... Ah well. I'm traveling with them because I owe them a debt. They saved my life. As for what they're doing exactly, best to ask one of them."

She waved generally towards Lian, Chalco, and the others. After all, the prince wasn't her secret to reveal.

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Life ain't always about looking good."

"I'm still pretty sharp with it on too, at least."

"So what's the deal? The brunette said something about a Prince when we first met, as I recall. What's that about?"

[SOLDIER First]

The young mage swallows once and nervously walks out of sight.
Once behind a convenient nearby wall, he stops and begins to ask himself in a terrified frenzy: Water for himself, or water for Lord Chalco?

[Swordstar]

"Hmm, I'll give you that. And, well, I guess if you know about the prince... He's on the run from a usurper. We cut through the desert to avoid the military and are heading to meet up with people he trusts. Hopefully they deserve that trust..."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Neat. Say, you think he'll mind if I tag along? I don't really have anywhere else to go." Santoku adjusted the heavy blade resting against his shoulder.

[Swordstar]

Iolani shrugged.

"He let me stay on and they just hired some mercenaries. Can't imagine he wouldn't let you stay on assuming you can give a good enough explanation of who you are and all that. But you'd need to talk to him obviously."
