Okay, now looking over the generals, I think we can use all of them. General five needs to be the one in charge of our heavier air assets. General 4 should be in charge of our special operations units, taking out key objectives whilst generals 2 & 3 act as our frontline generals. General 1 should be in command of the reserves, and deployed wherever the others need support.

How about we go faff off to the asteroid belt and make some Tungsten Rods? Just lob them at the planet whenever we finish one. Remember 90% casualties is acceptable.

They can't hit over there. We're in space.

Also I vote the Five General Plan.

I can't remember ever stating an opinion on that matter.

Exactly. Hence why it's acceptable to have mass casualties. You only need about 700 people to have a stable gene pool if you regiment breeding. With 90% casualties, we'd still have nearly a billion people to enslave. No need for regimented breeding then.

Whilst that is the easy option, I don't think that's in the spirit of the game.

To put it plain and simple, there is no game when I give one of the two sides a weapon that can destroy the other utterly, even if by logic they should have it. There are thus, 3 solutions.

1) Ignore said logic; and have said weaponry be curiously absent for some  mysterious, never mentioned reason.
2) Implement a socio-cultural handwave
3) Remove the capability of obtaining the weapon. Basically, say that you didn't come here in spaceships but with a magic teleporter which just happens to drop you into the higher atmosphere.

If we happened to have a magic teleporter then the tungsten rod idea is even more plausible and there's absolutely no way for them to retaliate. So that obviously doesn't work.

A socio-cultural thing is the only one that is plausible. "Research" in that area would be more of convincing people to allow it.

Eh, I'd say it's a socio-cultural thing, likely banned by treaty to ensure that no-one uses it.

The magic teleporter would, obviously, only go to Earth. Being magic and all.

That is the option towards which I'm leaning yes.

Eh, I'm just going to assume half and half on the mechanical/biological thing. That way, we get the best of both worlds without anyone getting pissed off over something.
Im fine with the KiRlak being semi biomechanical things with a focus on mechanical weapons.
I want giant robots to attack citys with.

1: Keep troops as they are for now.

Select general General 2, General 3 and General 4.

2: Wow, we sure are some skilled and useful aliens aren't we.  Almost like we were beaten over the head by god to give the humans a fighting chance.

3: Rename generals: General Hardshell, General Ko'de'tav, General Shadowslither

Name invasion force:KiRlak SiZreck

Eh, I'm more leaning towards a federation of races myself, the... well, whatever they're called being the initial vanguard or something. Basically send them ahead to set up a staging area and production facilities for the rest of the forces to use.

I'd like some other races as well, why can't the KiRlak hire some space catgirls?
Heck they could come with a new fancy weapon.

Re: Tungsten rods, I'm happy to assume that we just don't have the infrastructure in our ship to reliably make and launch them at sufficient velocity from orbit.  The premise, after all, is that we're something like a handful of thousand trying to conquer seven billion, but we happen to have vastly superior tech to balance it out.

Numbers and resources aren't on our side, and that's cool.
