Revise our uniforms so there is finally no distinctive telltale marks for officers on the outside, while also adding a heavy "Stormtrooper" Variant (Which should be thick enough to stop small caliber arms, but the soldier inside should retain basic mobility)

Our men are getting sniped off by coward Astrotzkans. We can no longer afford this.

+1, especially the stormtrooper variant.

Also, submissions:

UK: A tiger, preferably with Astrotzkan blood in its mouth, on a Tiger.
Royal/"Official" Chinese Army: M3 Sorraia, we are going to win this.
Communists: "People's" Hippos: This special version comes with an accessories "mail-to-order" form, should they need extra ammo or optics.

Actually, to the Uk I'd suggest giving them free reign to look at everything, and let them pick what they want. Otherwise, either the Sorraia, the smasher or the hippo would be a good bet if we really want to improve relations with the UK. Also send the tigers, but just inform them that we'll send them to the london zoo instead. Should stop a repeat incident like last time :P

Also, I'd suggest against aiding the communists. If anything, we start shipping a lot more weapons to the nationalist army to ensure the communists can't move an inch. Maybe even send advisors to help re-organise the chinese military.

We need that ore sadly, and we need more innovative ways to bag that trophy.

Revise the Model 1 Rifle so we have a Sniper Specialist Variant with Adjustable Scope.

As I told the Arstotzkans, any infantry armor effective against small arms fire is probably going to require a design phase, not a revision. You can still revise your uniforms for the camo though.

For my own satisfaction, would the armour I suggested have they potential to be effective?  (And if it was instead made work aluminium would the expense level be low enough to be able to issue to all stormtroopers? )

That could depend on rolls. I am also at this moment reading a book on armor written after WWI by a Harvard professor, Bashford Dean, who seemed to be of the opinion that metal armor was worth more against modern weapons than people give it credit for. This even includes references such as a recovered civil war (American civil war! Who knew?) metal breastplate which stopped .45 pistol rounds when tested, and one (but not two) Mauser rifle rounds, and metal armor demonstrated against machine guns. He even likes the idea of aluminum armor, although that might be optimism given by the rarity of the material, it had not been tested much then. This is of course at odds with most other sources I've heard (metal armor is worthless against modern rifle rounds). Ned Kelley's armor comes up a lot, I've heard the opinion that it's unlikely it could have stopped rounds with smokeless powder behind them though. There were also a lot of real attempts by the United States ordnance department in late WWI to make armor effective against machine guns or service rifles, and they didn't find any of numerous designs satisfactory. Then there's Brewster's armor, which stopped a Lewis machine gun reliably. It weighed 40 pounds and was very cumbersome though, I don't think it was ever used in battle.

Anyway, I would say it's entirely possible it could be effective. While looking around I found some weird examples of armor actually made in the first world war, at least on an experimental basis. I might have to bust out the calculator before deciding how much it weighs though...

Not sure. Aren't protecting our snipers mope important? Or is this something we can wait for another turn?
