We can make stealth weaponry but can't make waterproof smoke?!

I'm firing the scientist in charge of weapon development!

We can't find him, sir!
He's probably using the stealth stealth technique!

Wouldn't a stealth grenade be something either like just throwing a normal grenade or a PIAT?

If smoke doesn't work in rain, clearly ink grenades need to be reintroduced. Though only if it's a monsoon-like downpour.

We just need spandex and paint, so the agents can pretend to be OldCOM Mutons.

They just need to be microwave-emitter grenades. Turn rain into fog.

My personal scientist/research adviser (Pr. Dr. W. Brain) just had a (mental) breakthrough. He took the ideas of microorganisms attacking aliens, stealth smoke and recent advances in nanotechnology and bioengineering.
The idea is to create a grenade which releases either:
a.) A toxin.
b.) Microorganisms.
c.) Nanomachines, son!
The above substance would then attack one or more perceptory organs of aliens. With sufficient research, effects may be expanded, or the possible range of targets may be extended. Of course, an appropriate amount of... test subjects from various alien species is needed to complete the research.

Robotic foes are advised to be disabled via EMP, however. Creating a single stealth grenade which can deal with any opponent woud stretch our scientists thin.

maybe we could infect aliens with a disease that causes them to emit smoke
