My newest embark:

<beauty>

Labourrelics.

Holy crap. Those walls go up more or less at 90 degrees. This embark is a giant box surrounded on three sides by sheer cliffs and a volcano. I checked, there is a two tile wide slope going down them. That is the ONLY method of descent from the top of the cliffs. The slopes at the bottom cut off two levels up.

I checked the prospector, and oddly enough, it contains over SIXTY THOUSAND UNITS of GARNIERITE of all things, for reasons I cannot thafom. It also has more marble than I would know what to do with, more coal than I would ever need, and two viens of adamantine which are solid down to one level above hell.

I love it.

You have some gabbro there. How much olivine do you have? Do you have sand? Requesting params.

EDIT:
I'VE FOUND THE PRECIOUS GREEN METAL
PRAISE THE ENGRAVER WHO FORTIFIED A VOLCANO WALL!
What green metal?
Tealish-green, I guess. What I meant is cotton candy. However, I have to push through a bunch of hungry heads.

My first Dwarf caravan brought a Menacing Steel Spike with an exceptional decoration on it, of "...a kickass Dwarf Champion Tholtig Cryptbrain".

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

FYI Clownite is most commonly referred to as _Blue_ Metal when its colour is referenced.

I think it's actually cyan.

For all those requesting parameters, I'll just go grab them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
That should work.

Bear in mind that there are 800 titans, and very few evil squares.

You'll probably need directions, but I am unable to provide them at the current time, so if you feel like searching for it, go right ahead, but if somebody reminds me in a few hours, I'll grab them too.

I would, but I'm on an awful computer at the moment.

As in, "crashes if I try to start up anything more processor intensive than internet explorer", awful.

Is that a large cluster of native gold?
Limonite. Bit o'modding because I've been tired of searching a site with iron ore.

Who needs iron ore when you have a perfectly good supply of iron wielding goblins?

You want iron to be able to extract the iron from the goblins.

Do I have to input that shit manually?

You should be able to copy and paste that shit into data/init/world_gen.txt
Then generate a new world with parameters and you should see WUT at the bottom of the column on the right side of your screen. Select it, then wait.

In Helmsdance the game ran far to quickly, there was a food shortage and the first dwarven caravan came and left before I could react. So I scrapped that fort and restarted in the same place, after lowering the FPS cap to 50.

New fort is called Urnwax.
Spoiler: embark site (click to show/hide)
If anybody wants this site, it is a volcano adjacent a major river, beneath an Evil sea, easy to find.
I should point out that I set Titans to 1000 to discourage sprawl.
Spoiler: World Gen Info (click to show/hide)
Anyway, it is early summer of 1052, I got 2 war peasants named Doren, who hang out and eat my food and drink my booze, and generally don't do anything else. When the elves came in the spring, the broker did not want to trade with them, always saying he had better things to do. I like the exotic animals the elves bring, so I said anybody could trade and one of the war peasants runs the the trade depot. So they are not completely useless. Also, in addition to elves, spring brought elephants.

To aid in my FB-slaughtering activities, I've built fortifications one square away from open cavern map edges. FBs usually stand still and take it, although some die faster to this than others. (17 dead FBs as of right now, with lots and lots of forgotten beast lungs, intestines, organs, etc in my food stockpile, with some forgotten beast tallow biscuits as a snack)

Of course, other things get on the wrong side of the fortifications too. Like trogolodytes. And they don't always stand there and take it, but rather run back and forth like a shooting gallery duck, dodging my marksdwarves' bolts. "Ha, missed! Missed! Missed again! Mi-" *THUNK*

Wethalls appears to have gotten a Legendary Weaponsmith. Woohoo! Finally, some good luck with fey moods (all of the other ones so far in this fort were possessions :/).

...I've also gotten an artifact trifle pewter spike, but the odds of it being useful are - despite its nature - pretty freaking low. Decoration it is.
