Yeah, I'm getting way more possessions than anything else. Almost all possessions, a couple of secretives, maybe one fey.

Is that a large cluster of native gold?
Limonite. Bit o'modding because I've been tired of searching a site with iron ore.
Who needs iron ore when you have a perfectly good supply of iron wielding goblins?
Happy waiting til you have goblins haul iron breastplates/greaves/gauntlets/helmets/highboots/shields/battleaxes for 90 dwarves to your fortress... with 40 fps!

...and now my broker/starting stonecrafter went berserk and got killed, after a long bout of tantruming on and off due to a raccoon in the wrong place. Sigh.

...I think I'll set up the new broker in the same room. "What's with all this dwarf blood on the walls?" "Oh, it's nothing..."

Here's the embark for anyone who wanted to know.

Everything should be in order, assuming that minor modding doesn't affect mineral layers too much.

EDIT: HERP I SURE HOPE I LOOKED AT THAT TO SEE IF THE FLASHING CROSS WAS VISIBLE. OH WAIT

Massive idiocy aside, here is the much more helpful version where you can actually see the embark and not just pictures of the world which don't help at all.

On the mountain Biome, I get Basalt, Rhyolite, Dacite, Diorite, Gabbro, Marble, Granite and Quartzite (In decsending order).

On the grassland Biome, I have Raised Mire, Basalt, Rhyolite, Dacite, Diorite, Gabbro, Marble and Granite.

I guess this means stone layers are randomized even with the same seed? I was unaware of this, but you could try generating it a few more times, to see if you can get better minerals? I know adamantine is constant, and so is land formation, but apparently stone and soil layers are not.

You're using genesis mod? I got Andesite, diorite, gabbro, schist, granite, diorite, gabbro, quartzite. The other biome had the same stuff, with white sand.

Yeah, I am.

Perhaps try regenerating it to see if the minerals change?

Minerals are dependant on the seed. I'll keep the worldgen for when I play Genesis next.

Urnwax, 12th Sandstone, 1052, Mid-Autumn

In the last migrant wave, a legendary axelord, a legendary speardwarf, a legendary swordsdwarf, a merchant, and a doctor/cheese maker arrived. Which is good because I forgot to bring a doctor, so he gets the position of Chief Medical Dwarf, and the merchant has been promoted to Broker.

As Urnwax now has some medical staff, I decided to commission a Danger Room. Some training spears made from feather wood should be safe enough.
After the room was dug, the spears placed, and a lever set up, my mechanic stopped by my office to confirm the lever was to be connected to a cotton candy longsword some 79 levels below the surface. I don't know if it was some kind of joke, but now Sazir, the legendary swordsdwarf wants to launch an expedition to retrieve it.

We have also tapped the volcano to supply our forges. Orders have been placed to equip the legendary warriors with their chosen weapons.

Now that my ideal embark location has been cleared of its squatters, seven intrepid pioneers have been dispatched to found Granitemaw.

The miners have dug out the primary workshop block and are working on the stockpile are 1 z-level above the work area. Next on the list is the founders' bedroom block, the magma forges and the danger room.

Unicorn caught, elephants caught (and they never forget where their brethren sistren were caught. So they just sat on the cages till the ones I caught came back and chased them around the map. Warthogs are ready for butcher, danger room got set up, steel production is going well, and the elephants are being trained into skydivers. I hope they make more than just holes this time.
