Yesh, about time... I don't think I have to tell you, this is a large image:

Infact, the .png was too big for imageshack so I used Mediafire instead. The Download is the full size image.

Did you really channel all those zlevels around (what i presume) is your planned fort mountain?! Kudos. Thats a fair few zlevels.

Not yet, but it's almost done. I got a little side-tracked building the first Reactor Core:

Also, I noticed this bit of oddity at one point:

The death of 3 war dogs and one war tiger herald the start of Spring. Yay Spring, the season of life and renewal.

I'm still baffled by the fox impotency. I think they're bugged. I tried butchering a couple more of them and they didn't even produce skins (only skulls.) Is that even possible? Adult Foxes not giving up skins from butchering? I don't think I've ever heard of the butcher's skill level impacting whether a skin would be produced or not, but it was done by a non-rusty skilled butcher!  ???

Well, my dwarves just made an artifact coffin. Things are going to be fun soon, I guess :P.

There just isn't enough skin on a fox to be usable, just like with kittens.

Were the foxes bought from traders? Because I hear merchant-bought animals can't breed.

Nope, these were captured in my forest and bred successfully (for a while at least.) I do have a two of them I bought off elves, floating around. I'm surprised that there's not enough skin to produce a skin, mostly because I always seem to get one off the kittens and had previously produced two skins from some foxes. It was only the recent batch that didn't produce any. Perhaps it was only a fluke and I should try again. I still have a decent fox population; I guess I can spare a few more of the older ones FOR SCIENCE

EDIT: Well, that's one mystery solved. The latest slaughter produced a skin. So I guess it's up to chance...

EDIT2: After noticing that a number of the animals on display in my zoo were in-fact just a bunch of corpses, I've instituted an emergency breed program for the 4 female wolves and 1 male wolf left. I can only wonder if non-tame animals roaming in a small room within my fortress will actually reproduce or not.

Edit3: A Moody Weaponsmith just produced a Platinum Mace worth 198,000 called The Fork of Obeisance. Not often I have to look up a word, but I did this time! It means "a movement of the body expressing deep respect or deferential courtesy, as before a superior; a bow, curtsy, or other similar gesture. "

My new housing plan.  I thought it turned out kind of neat.

damn. If that wasn't as awesome looking as it was, I'd be rambling about how inefficient with space it is

I concur, that is a truly grand layout for a fortress. Confusing as hell to try and figure out, but very cool.

For the first time ever, I found HFS in my fort! Once I got smelting set up in the depths, I thought I was going to finally have a chance to play with clownite. However, a single bronze colossus absolutely decimated two 10-dorf squads and that's all she wrote. Never even got a chance to swing one pick at it. :(

I wait until i had a 5 dwarf squad and 35 dwarves until i breached cavern 1 and as soon as i did an ash blob made a b-line to my fort and long story it killed 3 dwarves and 2 war dogs before it was killed by a grieving husband.  I don't understand why everyone thinks the caverns are super hard
