Kala clasped his shoulder.
"Hold on a second. We might as well do this logically. Start anticlockwise and work our way round."

Suggest we start at the room at 12o'clock on the map

Arvin, who had been prepared to count in his head to twenty one-dragonradishes, and then pick a door, nodded sagely. Though now he couldn't get the thought of a tasty Dragonradishe saute out his head.

"Sounds reasonable." He said, clasping her own hand briefly with his own for support.

Action: Yeah

The northern 12 oclock passage leads to a chamber with a high ceiling. Various cages hang above you. The room is enormous in size. Peering through the bars of the cages from afar, you can distinctly make out skeletons.

Kala immediately recognizes this as an aviary.

What do you do?

"Buried with her birds, it seems. You can probably read alot into the sort of person she was to keep them in their cages even after she was dead..." Arvin says dourly.

Actions: Using my doctor skill, can I tell anything interesting at all about the bone birds, or how they died? Use the Loganladder from our inventory if we need to be closer.

It's difficult from where you stand, so you borrow Logan's shoulder again. This makes things a bit clearer, but the combination of darkness and poor balance, makes it a difficult task to do anything cerebral. You can at least make out that these birds died of natural causes (i.e starvation), as the set of bones are more or less intact. As for what the birds are, you'll have to do a more thorough check with full access to the bones (Need Doctor check; Need to handle the bones) As you ponder this you hear a faint chirp echo through the empty room.

You think yourself mad for a moment, but looking to the others, it seems they've heard it as well. There it is again. You follow the sound to a lone cage in one corner of the room. Propping yourself on Logan's shoulders, you peer inside the cage to find a chick preening its feathers. It chirps in surprise at you.

"Ah, it's sort of cute. Do you think it'll try to kill us somehow?" Arvin asks drolly.

((OOC: Also, Sercon is now officially an inventory item.))

Kala smiled. "Almost certainly. If it's even alive, what has it been eating all this time? What hatched it? Though if we do take it, I dub it Ketari."
Do I recognise the species of the bird, going by my general scholar omniknowledge?

"I'm not for leaving a helpless creature to die. Though I imagine if it's still alive it's far from helpless and probably a trap. Maybe the pet we were warned about?" Logan adjusted the set of his cigarette. "Think we can take the cage with us?"

(Also wat. Get me out of your hammerspace. >:C)

"I suppose locked in a cage it's not too much of a threat, one would hope. We should take it with us if we can."

"Indeed. Perhaps it might be harmless, but entering this place has activated some sort of magic, that brought the bird to life. Not death...stasis perhaps. I read many rumors about how the Queen promised to outwit even death itself, in the end. As for the room, one would assume these were messenger birds...harmless, except for the words they might have carried.

And, this shouldn't be the pet tomb, judging by the map. Her definition of pet was fairly inclusive, however."

Action: Arvin exchanges shoulders with Kala so she can get a closer look. Logan don't mind none.

Also anyway we could get the cage down, or possibly remove the bird safely?

((OOC: Btw bahihs, how much lore fluff do you mind me making up, for example, about the Queen? I doubt I can break anything, with the general inaccuracy of rumors and legend. Or is it just annoying to you, so I should stop? Like, I did the free verse poem about the masks...))

On his shoulders. Kala patted her ladder on the head.
"Good work."
She stuck her tongue out at him teasingly then returned to looking at the bird.

(( Ehh somethings I don't mind, the poem for instance was a nice touch. However don't set anything in stone, as long as its speculation I have the flexibility to change things which I prefer. Also don't speak of things you wouldn't have knowledge of (I.e pull things out of orifices), in this case Astra or Logan (having hunter skill) would be more likely identify this creature. Otherwise fluff away))
