I have hunter+1 and scholar+3 for different angles of knowledge. What does Kala know?

((Scholar is pretty much catch all, though you'd assume it's colored by the rest of your skill choices. I'd imagine she'd be something of an arcane lore/language master, with a definite real world grounding from her hunting/criminal skills-she's knows lore but she knows life is different outside of the books. Her arcane is higher than her other skills despite a lower base stat, which balance them all out. It makes me think fluffwise she has trained that much harder to make up for a lack of raw, natural talent.

I know Arvin, for example, has less knowledge than her, with 1 rank in theologian/scholar, but has more specific skills-higher ranks in mechanics, first aid and cartography. He's essentially a sham wizard, as I alluded to earlier. While most of his training covers those subjects, I can surmise from my last check result that he loves reading lore and uncovering ancient rumors...but they're not always guaranteed to be very accurate, unless in regards to geography. All his skills are based off of the reasoning stat, which is his best-which implies he's always known his greatest strength was his mind, and he's always sought to exercise that. It's also possible he's very lazy and doesn't like to work hard if he can save the effort...

Our stats are the same, tho, indicating Arvin and Kala are pretty similar in most ways.

Logan is well balanced, though he seems to lack imagination with 0 in creativity. He's a solid fighter and hunter with decent mechanical expertise, tho not as good as Arvin. I wouldn't be surprised if Arvin taught him some of his mechanical learning over the years. Oddly, he took cooking skill at rank 1, despite tying it to his 0 in creativity. Which implies he knows how to cook edible, but extraordinarily bland food. Eh, looks like boiled rice again. :P

...Ahh, lore and Rp is fun. I've forgotten how to have fun in the last two weeks.))

(( Indeed, I grabbed the stat system from an entirely different game (don't even remember which) to allow just this sort of roleplay in character. Kinda beats out the traditional "Strength, Agility, Wisdom etc, etc" stats doesn't it? Also glad to hear your having fun again :) ))

(( Oops, forgot that you have Hunter as well. ))

Upon looking at the chick, Kala is stunned. Arvin was wrong about several things. This bird was not brought to life by the tomb. This bird is no messenger. And this bird was not in stasis. None of these are correct. Because this bird...is a phoenix!

"What do we know specifically, though? We all know the legends...

But, I've read alot of things. I've read their downy tailfeathers heal all ills, their tears cure any spiritual malaise, and their blood is a potent poison that burns men from the inside out. I've read that detest serpents, love beautiful music, but can only be truly tamed by pure, virgin maidens-I've read they can transform into beautiful maidens, as well. I've read they live backwards-that they are born at the end of time, growing in reverse-and when they truly reach the end of their lifespans, their fires become the energy of creation upon which all life is then made. I've read a man who makes a meal of one can turn anything he touches to solid gold. I've read that anyone who truly kills a Phoenix will become one when he dies, cursed to carry those fires of creation he sought to snuff out, for eternity.

I doubt half of a quarter of that is true, though."
Arvin says. He certainly enjoys his lore....

((tldr, we need a knowledge check. :P

Might want to use effort point, if it can be used, so we don't get false info.))

"More importantly, how much is it worth?" Logan grumbled, a touch irritated at the headpat and being crawled over. "There are probably collectors who will pay through the nose for such an animal."

"Maybe you could try cooking it, Logan. Then you can make all the gold you want." Arvin noted, very cheekily.

Logan reached over, careful not to upset his 'passenger', and flicked Arvin's nose with his index finger. "Being an adult doesn't mean I won't wrestle your skinny ass to the ground and make you cry uncle if I take a notion to."

"Very professional. A spiked ceiling might come down and mash us any moment. This is no time for levity." Arvin said 'solemnly', doubling down.

"In truth, I'm hoping my last words will be something like 'Just give me five minutes, honey'" Arvin deadpans.

He immediately hopes that doesn't turn out to be ironic and fate tempting.

"Feh. The last thing I want to see is an oiled-up Arvin. Besides, I've got about fifty pounds of muscle on him so I don't think it would be too fair a contest." Logan looked up slightly. "Found a way to get that cage down yet?"
