Remember the time Strider Hiryu fought a Space Marine with a short sword?

Wait. Does that mean all the games without that seal are officially crap? All of them? How many games even have that seal?

Considering that gems like Ghouls n' Ghosts and Herzog Zwei don't have one, It's probably just denotes that someone at Sega was bribed to say said "hey, I like this game." Of course, GnG probably lost its seal after causing one too many ragequits.

Speaking of Ghouls n' Get Gud, remember Red Arremer, that slippery red demon you could never hit BECAUSE NONE OF THE WEAPONS GO WHERE I NEED THEM TO ASDFJKLQWUIEWRPUYDFASG;GHK;HKL
...Dude had his own series of games before appearing in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as Firebrand. The box art for his second and third games are alright, but have a look at the art for his first game.

I'm getting so many avatars from this thread, it's amazing.
A few of these of these are pretty exploitable, too. For example:

While I'm here, I need to bring up something that's been bothering me for ten-odd years:

What is going on here? Yes, he's throwing his skull, it's what he does in the game, but is it bursting through the box art? Or did it pop out of the gray void that's apparently behind the box art? Also, what's with that eery red glow coming from where I assume the skull was attached? The Yellow Monkey is as confused as I am.
And don't even get me started on the ending.

The real question I have is, if he's supposed to be throwing his own skull, why does he have eyes on his chest?

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

He's got a second head in his chest, which he uses for this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It might not really fit in with the incredible hilariously bad box arts of the rest of the thread, but I still find it kind of funny they missed such a significant detail. That magical glowy hand is the character's left hand in the game, but I guess nobody realized that the box art designers didn't know that.

EDIT:Woops, put quotes not spoilers.

Maybe it was made the good side and someone else decided to mirror the image before release. Still funny mistakes (at least he doesn't have 2 left hands).

I really like Worms 2, but I don't know why they had to make the box art so... grotesque. That's not what the game's like at all.

Honestly that's actually a pretty cool bit of artwork. I'm glad Bomerman got his own art style, but that isn't really bad, just different.

It's not bad except it looks nothing like Bomberman.  You could say the same of Act Zero, too.
