Rumman dropped out of Machinehead with a grunt. The surface of the great machine had been splattered with the mud and grime of a battle and it now caught on his hands. He brushed it against his pants, grumbling.

'Well, that was a damn waste. Surprised I even saw the enemy,' he muttered, to no-one in particular, though looking for the older Tonya. 'I really need some jet boosters on this tin can...'

He sighed. This sort of eager rushing in combat was new to him. He'd stayed too long unaware of the latest tactics, he imagined. He should've adapted to the team instead of assuming they'd work like in the old days of careful manouever and delayed contact. Well, no unit became a smoothly functioning machine in one day. The next battle would go better.

Tonya A. was washing off the dust off her own mech as Rumman grumbled his way toward her.

"...You couldn't have known Marya would go off like that. She's a bit off, that one. We all had to jump in to save her. She almost got people killed."

She shakes her head.

"I'd can anyone else for that kind of stunt-she should be driving long haul trucks full of rubber vomit out of Yoon-Yang*, not manning a battle mech-but, we need every pilot we can get, command tells us. Even the useless ones."

Tonya M. Walks over to the two veterans and slams her arms down on their shoulders.
"That was a good fight, da?"

Iris seems to be fiddling with the control console she found earlier with several worn tools and a toolbox next to her in the corner.

Lacie looked over to Iris, curiosity in her eyes as she did so.
"What are you doing?"

Iris continues fiddling a little, examining several doodads and components before wiping her brow with a towel and looking up at Lacie with a smile.

"I'm taking this Edo control console apart to see how they do it. I've only ever seen Terralban mechs and some older Langenese models, myself."

Lacie nodded slightly,
"Do you have much experience in mechs?"

Lacie crouched down next to her squad mate,
"You've had access to them that long?"

She smiled slightly,
"It is really, it must have been great growing up amongst all these machines."

Lionan is also in the mech hangar, reading a book about mech construction.
It's upside-down.He looks a little confused.

Iris smiles a little.
"Not always, but it was pretty cool."
