I'm going to go over the characters we have so far and collate them. We have more than 12 listed on the thread, and I'm willing to expand but I must warn that some might not make the cut. I'll allow people to revise, since they may want to once we see the crew's collective skills/abilities.

If you collate them in spoilers, can I suggest putting their primary job/purpose in the spoiler name, for easy reading/comprehension.?

Basically characters need more specialties. Being a misc or janitor is not necessary. There is/are AI and drones to handle that among other things. Nobody is needed to replace light bulbs or clean slime. We need more scientists, an archeologist, a backup pilot that preferably has other skills, other engineers maybe, backup shuttle pilot. And other things.

honestly, I can imagine the janitor being a fun role to play. For example biologist spills some corrosive chemicals that threaten to burn a hole in the ship. There, that's an adventure. It is up to the janitor to stop it before it's too late.

Also I find the idea of a snail as a janitor to be hilarious

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

If you want I can give you a list of chemicals my character knows how to extract or concoct I should probably tell you what stimulant he uses the most at the minimum

But a janitor who leaves behind an ironic slime trail is hardly within the tone. Anyway, we've set up the he's (somehow) a stowaway, and has capabilities besides that may convince the crew not to just eject him once found out.

There's an AI to handle mundane tasks like cleaning. The ship needs scientists. Not grunts.

Well, to be fair this is a suicide mission.

Also, I thought that my character has at least some Archeology skills.

A suicide mission that doesn't need grunts eating life support.
