Spoiler: Species (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Character (click to show/hide)
Not going to completely nix it, but silicon-based life is fairly unlikely, due to the difficulties in forming complex, stable molecules. You might get a similar effect by having it be based on metal-oxides, rather than silicon, though.

Bear in mind that most players seem to have defaulted to Oxygen as their breathing gas, so the ship will probably be full of it.

Also, matter-energy conversion, especially within someone's body, is basically magic.

Water exploration can probably be handled with robots/EVA suits anyway, and since its not statistically likely, someone who's only specialty is underwater logistics and combat would probably need more. Perhaps, given the possible expertise with biotech, she can help coordinate the food supply?

And since I think we're going with [local equivalent of] hydroponic air supplies, that would be a key and important skill.

Since the species has an affinity for biotech, the "hydroponic" life support (keeping the right balance of chemicals in the air, cloning sheets of tissue for food) would probably be their contribution.

Well, this could be... interesting.

I'm going to update the [X/12] thing in a bit, first I need to do a thing for another game.

Yes.

Anyhow, getting near a full roster, though once it reaches 12/12 bear in mind it's not a hard cutoff. People who posted theirs in the planning thread and just haven't seen the new one yet won't get left out, Tiruin for instance.

My character
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Aside from weapons/combat training, what skills does he have? Similar to a janitor, the expedition probably doesn't have room for someone who's just a grunt. Unless the species description is implying he's a skilled chemist..
you are correct his level of chimistry knowledge is on par with a masters degree so not too skilled but he does know a lot about chemistry.
