That would be fucking hilarious, just to see the apoplectic rage.

Option C: Obama appoints Trump to the Supreme Court. Clinton and Sanders are elected as co-presidents. Everyone is happy.

Best-case scenario: Obama nominates a relative moderate, which Republicans vehemently obstruct and denounce, dragging it all the way to the election. Then Clinton beats Donald "We need global warming" Trump, and the downticket pressure sweeps away GOP control of Congress. Then, Clinton nominates Obama to the Supreme Court.

That POP you may hear is every Republican's head exploding across the country.
Clinton: "See? I'm not bitter at all."

The only downside to Obama on the Supreme Court would be the inevitable civil war from sheer frustration.

You say downside, but I'm pretty sure millions of deaths is a small price to pay to finally be rid of all those states I don't like. That's right, you know who you are. Florida.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

An Obama Supreme Court would be so magical.
And he is a constitutional lawyer by trade, so it's not like he wouldn't be decent at it.

Since the US is remaking the guilded age, we might as well repeat the guilded age trivia of having a former president on the bench.

Meh...I've been hearing "civil war" for so long that it's lost any scare power. The conservative rank-and-file are far too lazy and complacent to actually do anything other than bitch and whine. And for the few that actually are motivated enough to "do something" (i.e. Malheur Wildlife Refuge), they're so incompetent that it's laughable.

I can't help but think of this. (Which is still damn funny to me, even if it is one of the most insulting things the Onion ever wrote)

I saw in an article that he doesn't really want to do the type of legal work like clerical work or something that would be in the Supreme Court, so, he'd most likely turn down an offer of becoming a SCOTUS Justice.

I'm surprised, I thought Trump would leap at the chance to play the elder statesman on the supreme court.

Hey, RedKing, just remember that the federal government may be stronger than them, but god is stronger than the federal government.

Antonin Scalia died in Black History Month, and was pronounced dead the day after Abraham Lincoln's birthday.
He was found in his pajamas, so he died in his sleep.
I'm not saying it was the Ghosts of Lincoln and Malcolm X that killed him for gutting the Civil Rights Act, but...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

In other news, the Washington Post quoted Frank Luntz about the last Republican debate:
Pollster Frank Luntz, who for years has helped Republicans carefully calibrate their language to appeal to a broad range of voters, was aghast.

“If 10-year-old kids spoke to their teachers the way those candidates spoke to each other, those kids would be suspended,” he said. “There is no way that any independent observer can say the Republicans gained a single vote against the Democrats because of last night. If you’re honest and unbiased, the GOP lost votes last night.”
