No posting links to rom or romhack downloading sites please. Thank you for the links but I'd appreciate it if you could remove them ASAP. If you want to talk to me about romhacks please PM.

Suikoden 1 and 2 are very similar in that they start super slow. I couldn't get past the first 3-5 hours of each. 3 gets moving fairly quickly but is PS2. Oh how I would love a truly portable PS2. Every system you've named thus far runs on a PSP, which has a few hidden gems of its own. If you have the cash, a soft hacked PSP and microSD adapter is worth it.

The Golden Sun, and TGS: The Lost Age.
Grew up playing Golden Sun, what's TGS though?
Dunno what the T is doing there, but if you throw it out it turns into Golden Sun: The Lost Age, which is either the sequel or the other half of the game depending on who you ask.

Also on GBA: Drill Dozer!

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

PSX
Azure Dreams - Pretty neat procedural death labyrinth, has strong meta advancement elements and pets.
Bushido Blade - Realistic weapon fighting game, you often die or are seriously crippled in one hit, great fun but mostly multiplayer.
Carnage Heart - Robot programming game, design and program your own robots to go fight other robots, has a campaign but setting your robots against another person's robots is the main attraction IMO. Is there interest in a Bay12 league?
Digimon World - Raise a Digimon from Digiegg to huge dinosaur that chomps everything in one hit or to a pile of poop, then have it die and do it again with your hopefully upgraded training area.
Parasite Eve - Really cool modern day JRPG, MITOCHONDRIA!
Tobal 2 - Fighting game/RPG with a large focus on grappling, not very good but you can be a robot suplexing ghouls in a dungeon.
Power Shovel - Port of a Japanese arcade game, you play a power digger and have to complete silly minigames while battling the obtuse control scheme.
Spyro the Dragon - Still holds up as a pretty decent platformer, much better than Crash, so might as well play it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Vagrant Story - Very good ARPG by Square

Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma are well regarded SNES games. You can also try California Games and Pilotwings. Zelda Minish Cap for GBA was pretty good. The entire Mother series is worth playing. Official and fan translations have been works of love.

I had to look up that name, but it is that weird one I rented once a long time ago, and had no idea what it was supposed to be. That description explains a lot. :)

Spyro 3 Year of the Dragon is my favorite of the three, but I'll still second this.

there's no problem with mentionning romhack, it only offer translation patches, it does not host any rom and does not give link to any rom, nothing going against Bay12 board rules.
romhack is not a "rom" website

I second vagrant story. In the matter of unique psx JRPGs, it only loses to valkyrie profile. It has a very final fantasy tactics kind of feel (regarding its soundtrack and art style, not its gameplay)

I'm playing that one at the moment, it's a lot like Chocobo Dungeon.
That sounds awesome.
Robit programming? How obtuse is the interface? :P I'll give that one a go as well.
Never really like Digimon.. How much like Pokémon is it?
Playing that one as well. I like the RE feel it has.
Hey, I'm a grappler too! :D I'll get that one.
Awww, I like Crash. ;-;
I'm playing that one, I watched a bit of an LP of it and it looked fun.

Never heard of those. What are they, RPGs?

I have fond memories of politweengs. :3

Those are all on my to-play list, I've made serious progress in Minish Cap.

Could you mean Vandal Hearts? That one is the grid turn-based tactics game, Vagrant Story is more like Kingdom Hearts.

All the same, I don't want any of that stuff being mentioned in the thread.

Nobody has said GTA2 (PSX), so there's that. I had to look through some of my PSX archives for stuff I like. There's Discworld 1 and 2 if you like point and click adventure. Lunar 1 and 2, Xenogears, and Star Ocean Second Story for more RPG's. If you like golf games, Hot Shots is good. Harvest Moon on PSX is okay. You're missing out on Rune Factory unless you hit the DS and Wii.

Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams
Neat little action-platformer for GBA. Levels are pretty large and detailed, the sprites are very pretty to look at and the gameplay is actually rather deep and enjoyable.

Star Wars: Episode III
Yes it's based on a terrible movie, but it's also a great beat-em-up with a cute comic book style and two separate campaigns. For GBA. Force Heal OP.

Clock Tower SNES
Horror point-n-click with great atmosphere and non-linear gameplay. It's Japan exclusive but there are working translation patches around on the Internet. Beware, they don't work in ZSNESW as far as I can tell.

Final Fantasy VI aka III
As JRPGs go, it's the one I dislike the least. I actually really liked it when I first played it, but tastes change and I can barely stand to look at JRPGs anymore. There's a lot of customization and management to be done, not that it will ever matter once your A-team is decided and you have at least one character that knows every spell in the game.

The Hobbit
It's a GBA Zelda clone from before the recent Hobbit movies were conceived. It's average at best, but it has a kickin' soundtrack and some neat visual interpretations of characters that have been set in stone ever since the original Lord of the Rings trilogy of films.

Wordtris for SNES was a good tetris style game.  There was also a DOS version of it.

I like Beyond the Beyond for PS1.  It's an RPG in the style of FF4 as far as combat goes.  It's a bit on the difficult side and has a fairly minimal plot and character development, though.

Tomba for PS1 is a great platformer.  It has a sequel but I've never played it.
