Amberly had been about to reply when the priest tossed a ring to her. She caught and stared at it.

: "I...I can't accept this! I just met you yesterday!"

[Swordstar]

"Huh? Wait... wha???"

The realization of what she'd thought washed over him and he couldn't get the words out fast enough.

"No no no no no. Nothing like that, no. It's just a magic ring. I think it will help boost your magical abilities and I know that light magic tends to be weaker than anima or dark magic and so I thought you could use it. That's all. Nothing like... no no no."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh. OK."

"Stheno, then Aiesha, and now Lucrezia. Prata, looks like you're a girl magnet!"

Beryn easily swung up into the saddle and held his hand down to help her up.

"Prata doesn't mind passengers. Truth be told, this ox is so strong he barely notices most things. Except lightning magic. He hates that."

: "But...but it must be worth a fortune. I haven't done anything to deserve so generous a gift."

Cetus shrugged.

"You're a part of our group now. Everyone gets a split of the loot and items like this go to who can use them the best. So it makes sense for you to get it."

Jesseo approached Cetus and mimicked a courier giving information--that is, tried her best to discreetly deliver a message.

"Amberly seems like the sheltered sort--do not deny information, but give it slowly...I believe she is along the conventional beliefs of how things work in the world. So...it may be best to detail probable controversial situations beforehand, before they happen."

She then waved at Amberly.

[Sirus]

: "...so it isn't a wedding ring? This is...pay?"

[Swordstar]

Turning back to Amberly, he shook his head.

"No, it's not a wedding ring. I... I wouldn't have just tossed it at you if that's what it was, also as you have already stated we just met. It's also not really pay? You'll still get paid if you want it. This is just... It's something our group found and so it goes to who can use it best. Like Luc getting that weird lance, or Aiesha getting the sword. Items that are more useful to use than to sell go to whoever can use them best. I guess you could call it a bonus? Sort of?"

Jesseo looked at Amberly and unslung her staff, presenting it forward.

"You're aware of the power of these staves. That ring is like this staff--it is a container and passage of the power of the user, both granting and giving this energy when in close proximity towards the nearest person., which in most cases means being 'worn' or 'wielded' to use said power. Its neither a wedding ring, or payment, though it in the form of that ring could be used as such if desired."

She healed a tiny ladybug, crawling on a blade of tall grass.

"It's like a tiny staff, in the form of a ring."

[Sirus]

: "Oh...yes, how foolish of me. Very well, I accept your bonus." The nun gave Jesseo a nod before stepping away from the pair. Once away from the rest, she removed one of her gloves and carefully slipped the ring onto a finger before pulling the glove back on over it.

Amberly uses the Energy Ring!

Cetus sighed and crumpled down into a sitting position. Running a hand through his hair, he shook his head.

"I didn't think... I... Ugh, I should have thought about how I was when I first left... Of course she didn't know... That was foolish of me. Should have handled it better but I guess it worked out in the end."

Lucrezia blushed as she gingerly took his hand. She climbed up into the saddle, very, very concious of the person behind her. She sat stiffly in the seat. Luc focused on patting the neck of the pseudodragon.

"I-I-I've never flown before."

[Sirus]

Amberly returned after taking a moment to compose herself and sat down across from the priest.

: "We should speak of other things. You are a group of pirates, yes? Are we returning to your ship?"

Jesseo gave Cetus a friendly pat on the back.

"She understood in the end, and that's what matters. Though...I guess it also matters how they got there as much as that they got there. Either way, you did well. No use stressing over it."

She gave him another pat on the back, and paused, keeping her hand there as she spoke.

"...And I've been wondering-well, too shy to mention earlier but-um, thanks Cetus. For the support you give, both to the crew and to each single person. That is very noble of you and your character."

Jesseo mumbled a short response at the mention of 'pirates'.

"If we were ever pirates, then I would not be part of this crew."
