(Since you don't have fire magic this is actualy a difficult thing to do since technicaly your skills don't involve heating things up but since you are a higher level Mage you can work things within a certain level of temperatures)

It is filled with information on hunting techniques, fishing, traveling, tracking, and many other survival basics. Having such a high intellect the information absorbs and you have a fairly good understanding on survival but no aplied survival skills. The book was very concise and short so you finish reading in only a half hour
You look up and see that the ranger is reading another book, something on sailing the river
