It's worth noting that many of the largest councils, like Aberdeen and Glasgow, Fife and Edinburgh, are still out, so while No has a good early lead, they could easily flip it on its head. That said, if I were betting money on this, I would count No the safest right now.

Still anyone's game at this point, but it's looking bad for Yes.
The commentators (or at least the BBC ones) have been maintaining from pretty early on that the No campaign were going to win it, and the results as they came in confirmed it. Although Yes won some areas, the areas they did win were ones that they were expected to win, and they didn't win by enough to catch up to No.

Where are you getting your numbers? This says it's still pretty close, and Stirling is in.

Remember: It's hicks if they vote against you, It's the rural poor otherwise.
Precisely!

5.3m people. Scotland is a country with twice the population of Chicago. Chicago proper, mind you, not even counting suburbs. 0_o

It be safe to assume that the bbc has a bias or an agenda behind it, yeah?

Can you call them hicks when they are the ones voting for the cosmopolitian outcome over the regionalist outcome?
Of course you can, when they're voting for something you don't like.  That sort of thing doesn't matter when it comes to tyranny of the majority.
...
And I think it'll be better for me to sit back and quietly watch the polls from here on.  Otherwise I may say something I would regret.
I kid, I kid. I grew up rural, and am about to move out of heavily urban Wake County (1 million and counting) to a town of 6200.
But in general, rural America is a place I can get along politely with, as long as they don't actually know me. In which case, I probably ought to run for my life.

Not like an american would expect from their news. Everyone I've met who things the BBC has an agenda thinks they have an agenda against their views.

They also don't really gain anything by falsely reporting the results.

This is basically entirely the smallest councils on the list. Only Renfrewshire (No) and Dundee City (Yes) were above 100 thousand people. Catching up with No is not even an issue at this point.

That wasn't my estimate, that was the estimate of the analyst team that the BBC have.

Question: I've noticed several of the No camp (politicians and some pundits) using the term "separatists" to refer to the Yes campaign and voters. While that's technically accurate, that's a bit of a loaded term in English these days.

Has this been going on the whole time, or is it a sign of slightly sharper tensions?

One thing is for sure, YES has hit them with their ten cent pistol, and they'll never be the same.

And we're back into it with Aberdeen, thanks to that 20k lead for Yes, according to BBC live radio feed.

Edit: Nevermind. Fuck you, Galloway. You're probably English in disguise, aren't you?!
