Definitely need to wait a few months for the investigation to play out before making any judgment calls on this one...

I still don't understand why people who are 100% compliant and obviously engaged in nothing illegal or suspicious still need to be handcuffed and neglected after they've been wrongfully harmed.  The only reasoning I can think of is to characterize the victim as a criminal as much as possible by treating them like one to mitigate public opinion.  I... honestly can't think of any remotely logical, humane justification.  But it's what happens every single time nationwide.  Even if the person has been shot over a dozen times and is unconscious, the first thing they do is handcuff them.  I don't get it.

I think of myself as very pro-cop. I pretty much alway support OIS cops, unless they're convicted, and I try as hard as I can to understand. Plus, BLM is just awful.

Listen. I don't believe cop training is perfect. I think reform is needed. The problem is, BLM is not pushing for reform. They want to punish cops who follow their bad training and kill someone. The fact is, calling cops psychopaths isn't the most helpful thing to do.

And cops should be punished when they murder someone. Bad training is bad, but it does not excuse murder. In the face of the power cops wield against the public and what they're supposed to do instead their violations are all the more vile.

We don't excuse murderers who were abused by their parents and grew up in poverty, why should cops get a pass?
