It has been determined that Trump is an average unladen swallow travelling northbound at his maximum sustainable speed of -3 Obama-cubits per second in the middle of a class 3 hurricane.

Apply to job (with about 10 other applicants tagging along), charge a proper rate ($20/hr), no response for nearly 2 weeks (no markups of interviews or hires with any of the other 10 applicants either).

Change rate to something impossible to refuse ($5/hr) to see if the job's still relevant; catch their attention somehow. Declined in less than an hour since price update.

Stay classy, employers. And thanks for helping me research the psychology of unresponsive clients.

EDIT:
At the crappy rate of employment I'm getting with freelancing (regardless of pricing), I need some more social experiments to run on (potentially) unresponsive clients, or at least to troll them into backing up their "Communication is a priority" double-standard they spout.

I'm guessing where you are the minimum wage is less than $12?

Actually, it's freelancing using an online resource/freelance website. So location is only relevant regarding time zones. And sorta, yeah.

EDIT:
Just checked back a moment later, and they're finally interviewing somebody.

Have a very short short story:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This is very similar to an urban legend I heard about Albert Einstein (who in this version ironically played the part of the navy seal rather than the jewish professor)

Cartoons were never meant for children.

Those are fun tidbits, but anyone who freaks out about it is seriously over-reacting. Almost all of those sorts of jokes only make sense if you are able to decode the reference. If you e.g. hint at blowjobs or something, the kid has to already know about blowjobs to get it. In other words, kids aren't going to learn anything they don't already know about sex from those examples:

girl: "your fast, maybe too fast"
guy: "why thank y- ... heyyyyyy what's that supposed to mean!?"

Sure, we adults get what "he's too fast" means, but only because we already get the reference. Man, it would enlightening to see how a kid actually explains that line :D

Also they missed the "lays with his wife" like from the Adventure Time episode "The Duke"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Found this in my old image folder. Apparently, according to the kinsey scale, I'm a tentacle monster.

Eh, the Kinsey scale is more just a broad stroke to try and pin down the separation between hetero, bi, and homosexual from my understanding. Less as an actual quantification of sexuality.

Sadly it isn't known at what number 4th dimension sausages become inefficient.

Quote
In 1998 it was proven that the Sausage Conjecture was correct for dimensions equal to or larger than 42.
The funny thing is the bit where 42 cropped up.  Randomly.

Oh my, I didn't even notice there were comments on that. One has to knowingly click a small javascript link to see and read them. That's brilliant!
