Would you like to hear them?"

I'm also interested in who your client is. There's a lot of people I haven't seen eye to eye with, but assassins are a new thing.

"Both you and your companions do not show up in the Threads of Destiny or The Archive."

Kyle tilts his head.

"Ah yes, I forgot who I was talking to. Should I give you the long version or the short  version?"

"Well, we're by the burning wreckage of a butchered caravan, hunting a drake, so I'd say short version for now."

(Not really, no. It just kind of turned off at some point.)

"The Archive is, essentially, an archive of all existing things, containing all information about said objects, lifeforms and the like. You not showing up means that, technically, you do not exist. As for the Threads of Destiny, it's basically like this. All living things and inanimate objects have a mostly predetermined path. There are choices, but... anyway, you not showing up there means that you are completely and utterly unpredictable."

"While that was not the reaction I was expecting, it is indeed 'cool'. It means that, if you were to become villains, the heroes have a much smaller chance of defeating you. It means you could become immortal, destroy the planet, and so on. And since  the world does not register your existence, it would not be able to stop you."

"You'd be surprised by the sheer amount of people who have tried it, actually."

"That's... kind of sad."
