Well, you can charge every bow shot and technique, to my knowledge, but I don't think the katana has any charging stuff, which is why I decided to cut it for step stuff.

Fair enough! As a note, people are gonna be mentioning shunka a lot in katana braver stuff, but in the near future sega has mentioned they'll be nerfing it, so be aware of that. It's not really something you can just get besides by buying it, but I have no idea how expensive it is.

Point is, don't rely on shunka entirely, irregardless of advice, it'll be falling out soon.

Oh hey, Sange and Yasha are in this game. I have fond memories of collecting those in blue burst and combining them into one weapon. Although one of them used to be a dagger.

If there's anything I'll miss its the loads of unusual weapons with their own weird combo attacks that were a pain to pull off in the middle of combat. The kids who've only played two have no idea how easy they've got it. The lack of batshit crazy weapons all over the place is a bit of a downer though.

Finally done with Techer for the moment. It's mostly there for the PP recovery increase.

I'm currently debating which element in the Techer tree I should go for.

I really like Il Grants but Il Megid can hit more. I'm not even considering Na Megid because find Il Barta better.

Il megid is apparently considered to be fairly OP. Probably the best choice, but it may get a balance pass eventually.

People interested in doing crafting requests! Line up.

Here's the thing. You can only set 3 recipes for request. Anything else cannot be requested. You can change this at any time, but it's a pain, obviously.

So, here's the plan. Everyone takes certain levels. Like for instance, I do 9-10-11 star 1-3 level extensions for melee weapons, (yes they're seperated into level categories too, it's terrible), laur does 9-10-11 star 4-6 etc.

I'd like to get a system set up basically. We can leave out lesser extended weapons for "custom" orders, IE people telling them to switch it to that extension, then switching it back after being done.

Oh crap. Extending Katana, gunslashes, and bows up raises the dex requirements. By about a hundred.

I did not factor that into my calculations. I'll barely have enough dex as it is to equip the vanilla higher rarity weapons.

Urk. This will require some refactoring.

EDIT: Alright, I had enough loose points on my braver class to max out the dex skill 1, which put me up to 494 out of the needed 550. Can I get enough Dex on equipment to make up the rest or am I going to have to put some dex on my mag after all?

For deeply personal reasons, I'm especially working on my Technique Weapon Extension skill set - ie, upgrading rods and talii.

I has question. (Big surprise)

A fully extended, fully grinded 11 rarity Katana has 898 attack

A level one extended, fully grinded 11 rarity katana has 755 attack

A regular fully grinded Yasha has 955 attack.

I am having difficulty seeing the point of extending. Other than to get a potential. Most of which probably aren't worth screwing your damage variance so badly and the massive time, money, and resource sink.

I must be missing something.

Couple of things, grinding is what unlocks potentials, not extending. But you're right, sort've. Higher end weapons gain less from extending, and it's typically not worth doing. I'd say anything that doesn't have at least 800-900, MAYBE 700 attack is worth extending. Note that Grinding and extending stack, to boot.

Noted! I've kind've been working on everything, but until we get more people in on this, if you are in on this, just put the highest star rating/extension level you can do, so people have a general idea of where you're at, you do it through the room console. Luckily it works like daily requests, and so far as I can tell the client MUST provide all the materials, no more, no less. Unfortunately this means you can't make money off it without a pre agreed on thing, but I have to admit it simplifies this greatly. Lilliparium mini's lower cooldowns by 15 minutes, and they drop like candy from mining defense, so cooldowns, at least on low end extensions, shouldn't be an issue.

Weapon Extensions help reach the cap.  Every single Rod, for instance, has a cap of about 1047 (in that area, I forget the exact number) which means EVERY rod with max extensions and max grind, will reach that number.  Everything from the 1star shit drops to the 11star mega rares, every single one of them ends up with the same exact attack power.

The only exception is the 12star rod that drops from Elder, and I think there's a few gimmick weapons, like some sort of foam hammer.

Extending a 1 or 2 star weapon will bring it a lot closer to the cap, while a 11 star weapon has a lot less distance to travel.  So really, think of Extensions as equalizers more than anything else.  The help level the stat imbalance between different types of weapons.

While this may seem great, and a good way to use easy low-tier weapons and just extend them, only like 6-star and above can unlock potentials when grinded to +10 and a few photon spheres thrown at them.  My current rod has +10% PP regeneration rate thanks to its unlocked potential, and that's unique to that rod, none of the low-tier items have that option.

I've extended my crappy low star katana quite a bit for three reasons: it's vastly cheaper than buying an 11 or 12 star katana (which I believe I can't do without a special pass anyway), I have a decent set of souls on it (+65 S-ATK and some other nice stuff) and because it was really easy to grind up to +10. Ah, and as a Braver with lots of dex I'm not affected by the damage variance much.

But now that I'm around ex level 13 (or 12, not sure) the gains from each extension are quite low while the extensions have become quite expensive, so I'm probably going to focus on acquiring one of the 11 or 12 star katanas with high enough attack at +10 to surpass any extended gear. Which looks like it'll be kind of hard x-x.

tl;dr - it seems to be worthwhile doing around the mid-levels because it allows you to get a pretty kick-ass weapon fairly cheaply, but later on you'll abandon your hard work for a fancy 11/12 star. With katanas, at least.

There's also aesthetics to consider, which I'll be chasing, as I always do. :P

Remember that rares get the 90%-100% damage variance compared to 50%-100%. So overall average is greater when your hitting for thousands with the 755 attack rare than a full extended weapon of 898 attack.

When your hitting for thousands in PA damage, you get huge damage inconsistency with that 50%-100% range.

Fun fact: Grinding does not always result in a weapon having a base of 150% of its attack.

According to the wiki, higher level rares will, at +10, be pretty near the damage cap without being extended, despite the fact that they're approximately halfway to it.

The only 12-star assault rifle, for example, has a base of 522 R-ATK and, at +10 unextended, has a total of 1044 - that's 200%, not 150%.

At some point, experimenting will have to be done, I suppose.
