Damn at this point, I'm gonna have to run random.org just to decide who to give my points to :P

Aha, yes, that's probably it. I fumbled with the launcher/PSO2 tweaker for a little bit when I started PSO2 the first time, so I never ran into that issue. Good catch, Jelle!

Annnnd for everyone not aware, server comes back up in about half an hour presuming everything goes according to plan.

The servers are already back up. Maintenance is supposedly only 5 hours long.

Edit: No patch needed this time.

Okay, this is it. The main issue:

Used AIDA's PSO2 Tweaker
Downloaded English Installer from Arks Layer, updated it with PSO2 Tweaker.
Downloaded all the English Patches (EN Core, Large Files, Story Patch)

The game loads correctly, except instead of going to the main menu, it doesn't do so and leaves me stuck in a black screen. It does not crash, as when I press the close button on the top right of the program, it makes a confirmation sound and what seems to be like two buttons being glossed over as I mouse over in total blindness.

Any solutions to this?

E: Might be an outdated Story Patch. Reverting.

Majikero earlier in the thread mentioned that as long as you can see the in game cursor, mashing ESC will let you into the press enter screen.

Even if not I'd give it a shot, really. If it persists, let us know!

Well, it persisted... until I decided to wipe it out in the meantime.

Currently reinstalling, and for the sake of issues and reports, I couldn't see the cursor when it launched to the main menu. Nor did it have some kind of music. Only when I mouse over the window and try to close it does it reveal that the game was indeed running, albeit only a blank, black screen.

Status Report 1: New install, fully updated. No English patches. Runs fine (can't read Japanese though so technically counts as not running fine :P). Will try English Core and Large Patches.

I could never get my story patch to work, but the English patch, and English large files worked just fine for me. Also, if you get gameguard errors, there should be a 'Fix GameGuard Errors' button under the Troubleshooting tab of the menu, that fixed all my issues.

Yeah, I've been pressing those buttons like heck earlier. Actually made my game run, which brought me now to the current issue at hand.

I'm gonna try patching everything except the story file. Nothin' I can do about it.

Update: Upon application of any of the English Patches, my PSO2 stops working.

This is the part where I play PSO2 blind, or at least the equivalent of blindness when you can't even understand a single text :P

E: I don't understand anymore. After I revert PSO2 to default through the tweaker, it refuses to load.

E2: Aren't I very lucky? Starting from this day, 5/28/2014 JST, SEA people cannot login to the Japan servers. In order to do so, I must bypass it with a VPN, the same method people use to bypass Kantai Collection's region lock offshore. Whether I like it or not, that's my cue to leave. :|

Damn that means you can't play with us and be on your lonesome in the SEA server.

Yep. And goddamn the Asiasoft English Version torrent moves at a snail's pace. School will practically be here soon as it's finished.

That's to bad.  :( Well at least you'll have official support in the sea version.

You know I think the game is pretty awesome and all, but I must voice my one big criticism: there are so many freaking items. It's like every single monster explodes into a shower of swords and guns. I do believe I spend more time looting and managing inventory than I do killing monsters. Going over and merging abilities is especially tiresome, al the randomness is bad enough but just sifting through all those items I collect to merge into stronger abilities, just very time consuming and boring. Ugh maybe I should just stop bothering collecting abilities below lv III.
I don't know like just the overabundance of items all over the place is bothersome, would be better if loot were scarcer imo. Can't remember ever spending so much time shuffling through my stash in pso1.

So you don't sell everything and just buy the things you need?

The only thing I keep are the rares especially the ones that need identifying. Those give good abilities.

PSO1 was much the same way with the loot overload. It was an inventory nightmare when you were lower levels and picking up all the un-ID'd weapons and looking for 4 slot armor. After a while you learned to ignore all the junk, and at later levels you pretty much ignored all non-rares.

Yep. If you're not in dire need of cash, then you should cherry-pick your loot for the finest, and sell them possibly through trades and such.
