Maja pretty much completely ignores Magnus. "I don't know! Because he's a dragon! He should be doing whatever the hell he wants, not talking about traditions and pilgrims!"

Altrius' shin is kicked. "A king that would strike his people, is a king befitting of nothing. You are dragon-kin. I, who may one day be King of all dragons, refuse to strike at my own people." Altrius says this with the same wise voice as a person who has lived many lifetimes. Altrius smiles at Magnus, "I see you are doing well, your Grace. My father sends his regards to you."

Cheru, having lived many lifetimes, has the voice of an exasperated aide.
"Maybe that's what the hell he wants. Not every dragon wants to hoard gold and beat people up."

Maja's dragons are independent loners who rarely see each other and never for long periods of time. And when they do they either reproduce or fight over territory.
