((It's really hard not having a character say someone's name when you know it. But it's a good thing it's an obvious nick name.))

Tom take her to his room leading her to the bed and indicating to her to get on it. He sits down on it himself after she does so.

Keith helps clean.

Ton climbs up with hands and knees, dragging the lantern after her. She holds it in her lap, and sniffles. Her eyes are red from crying, and the rest of her face is red from blood. She wipes at it ineffectually with an equally covered sleeve. When she realizes that Tom got smeared with blood, she makes an unhappy sound at points to it, then looks down at herself and pouts as she realized what she did to his clothes.

Tom chuckles.
"It's fine, you had bigger problems. Now then, why did you stab the girl?"

Ton struggles with this a moment, trying to figure out how to explain. Finally, she gives up and uses words. After all, non-tonberries didn't understand at first, most of the time. They weren't made to be protectors like tonberries.

"She human. Human bad, mean. Tonbewwie doink human, make human go away. Not hurt monstuw then."

She obviously had trouble saying r's, and she seemed completely serious. And why shouldn't she? Before they'd been killed, her parents had raised her like any good, proper tonberry would: to be a human-hating sociopathic killer.

Tom sighs.
"Ton, not all humans are bad. Here, let me ask you a question. Do you think you were right for stabbing her?"

Ton seems confused at the first statement, but barely hesitates before nodding to the second. Mummy had always said that humans were bad, and should be Doinked. Mummy wouldn't lie to her, would she?

"Okay, now, think about it from a humans point of view, there's a race dedicated just to killing them for no apparent reason, they're by far the least plentiful people in the world now, and the few who aren't slaves to monsters have to worry about the ones who want to take them in various ways. Wouldn't you be scared and more prone to attacking? And also, that's only a small number who actually are violent or inherently mean."

"What's the chance I'll get stabbed if I go in there to see what's going on?"

"I didn't even do anything to get stabbed."

[Again_Dejavu]

"Ah... So it'd be a horrible idea?"

Ton looked very confused by this. But- but- but- but humans were bad? Humans couldn't be enslaved by monsters. They were too crafty. Too fast. They were the ones doing the slaving. Right?

She just sat there for a moment, trying to puzzle it out. She was obviously having trouble, and was equally clearly quite disturbed by the ideas being given to her.

Tom just waits for her to respond patiently.

She nods.
