((Yukari healed the damage with a poultice and avoided most of it by dodging out of the way. Still, 30 is pretty damn hefty for a dodged attack.))

Ton frowns and looks confused. She wasn't supposed to dodge. That would need to be fixed. Stabbing the legs should slow her down, maybe in the back of the knee?

She starts stalking towards Yukari again, and the atmosphere in the room changes. The lights seem much dimmer, and the green lantern feels like the only source of light. An aura of menace exudes from the little girl, and her hood is suddenly up, making her seem much more than just a girl. Now the tail can be seen, as well, though it still barely pokes from the bottmof her sweater. A hysterical fear bubbles in the back of Yukari's mind, and it almost seems like mist is filling the room-but that's nonsense, right?

....Right?!?
((for reference, tonberries are still fairly damn rare; Cheru and apparently Tom might know what she is, but other than that, it's hard to recognize them. The whole knife, lantern, and hood thing might tip them off though. On that note, nobody fucking knows what the lantern is to a tonberry; only that they're very attached to it and never seen without it, and for a very few, they know it can show their mood based on color and intensity)).

Keith stands in front of Yukari summoning his air shield.
"Stop, what are you doing!?"

Fear, of course, is bad. Yukari knows that that small knife somehow hurt more than Altrius' dragonfire- that even dodging it still hurt her. She knows this creature is trying to hurt her.

She knows a lot of things. Including that a lot of pain is about to hit her unless she gets out of there.

Looking around nervously, Yukari prepares to escape out of the window if Ton gets past the shield.

Ton pauses at the air shield, trying to simply walk through it for a second, which would look cute in it's futility if she hadn't just stabbed Yukari. Then she stops, stares at Keith almost pleadingly- and stabs the air shield, her eyes glowing green. Keith can feel a tingling in his fingers and arms, and the air shields wisps away into nothing. Suddenly, Ton is in front of Yukari, arm pulled back to thrust-!

Keith tries to kick Ton's arm.
"Stop!"

.....and that would really hurt the poor girl if she hadn't managed to, in one swift motion, leap out of the window, catch a nearby clothesline, swing onto the roof on the building opposite and roll onto it, as if by instinct.

((In other news, crits are bullshit again.))

Ton is stopped by the sudden impact, and drops to her knees. The hood falls off as the strange atmosphere in the room dissipates, and Yukari can feel the unnatural fear in her mind fade away.

The small child coated in blood, on the other hand, is clutching her arm on the ground, tears welling up in her eyes as she sobs as if desperately frightened, trying to reach her lantern where it had fallen to the ground in surprise when she'd been kicked. The knife is lying on the floor, forgotten, and the girl is wailing as if in pain, barely able to do more than writhe as she stretches towards the light-source, just out of reach. The lantern is burning an enormously bright yet dark orange-gold, and it's honestly a surprise the floorboards haven't caught aflame from it yet.

Cheru kicks the lantern towards the Tonberry's outstretched hand. He stares at her with apprehension; he knows what she is. He looks between the open window, the running Yukari in the distance, and Keith.

"What is going on? And why, precisely, is there bloodstains on the floor, and who's idea was it to let a tonberry into a house with humans?"

Due to a series of contrived coincidences Russel happened to be on a roof across the street, parkouring or something.

He seems confused by what just happened.

As the lantern comes into reach, Ton clutches it and holds it tight to her body, crying quietly and holding her hurt arm. The lantern is slowly dimming in brightness as she does so, very gradually fading to a bluish yellow that manages to not be green, somehow.

Keith stares at Ton in shock.

Tom walks in and crouches next to Ton.
"Not again, come here."
Tom outstretches his arms towards Ton.

Ton stands up and runs to Tom, sobbing into his shoulder and holding her lantern to her chest, letting herself by cradled by his arms. She seems like just a little girl again, hurt and afraid. Other than the blood smears getting wiped all over Tom, that is.

Cheru is unaffected by the cute. Mainly because she's still covered in gore and he just put two and two together.

He sighs and tries to communicate as simply as possible. Better he dealt with it now, when there was only one person running, than with two corpses.

"You, tonberry. Don't stab red-haired girl with big gun called Yukari. She not bad. Not like other humans. Don't stab man with cards called Tom either. He not evil. Not like other humans too."

Keith stares looking progressively more confused and worried.

Tom pats her back.
"Hey, what happened?"
