I decided to figure out how to replace colors in Photoshop. Now I won't have to trace over the original image pixel by individual pixel. Joyous day! Now things will go significantly faster.

Do you use MSPaint at all? Because I know a fairly fast way to color-swap in it.

I was point out that I had found the way to do it in Photshop. Thanks for the offer, though. xD

(Now it's just 'Click on one color, adjust it to a new color en masse.'

New versions. Made the eye color blue (since I was able to get it a small amount deeper than the original) and changed the hair to a purple/amethyst color.

The one on the right/bottom is the less intense/darker version and I definitely think it looks a lot better.

Yeah, the one on the right does look much better/more natural. Less glaringly neon. You know what I mean.

Also you have to be careful with some sprites about changing colours en masse. With a limited colour palette it isn't too uncommon to reuse the hair colours for shading in some other part of the sprite. Obviously it isn't a problem for Fiora, but I remember encountering that in some other characters. Now if only I could remember their names...

I really don't have anything to add to USEC's post except +1 I guess. :P

In this particular case it especially doesn't matter since I had already gone over the hair in neon-red and was changing that. The original Fiora sprites certainly didn't have that color in any other place. :v

I'm ever vigilant, though.

What do you guys think about the eye color?

Also, suggestions for the armor?

The eye color is good. My personal preference is to use brighter colors for the eyes, so expressions stand out more but that's my personal bias speaking (same reason I use black outlines). As for armor, I suggest something that would suit your character, as generic an advice as that sounds. Like Elend seems to like the rain, so she might fight a lot during the rain, so maybe a dark grayish-blue for the armor? To sort of blend in like camouflage, I mean.

The last thing we need is more red hair.  :P

Well, you don't need to change the armor. My first sprite was just a hair color swap, so it's perfectly fine if you don't get into splicing yet. If you want some ideas though, I could send you some mugsheets and you could look at the different armors.

Eye color's fine as it is, or you could change it to a green or maybe a purplish color if you want. I don't think the sprite would look as good with a duller color for the eyes, seeing as it's rather bright and vibrant as a whole.

But red hair is awesome! D= (On girls, that is.)

Yeah, I plan on using cooler colors. Actually, I almost always use cooler colors >_>.

I've already done a liittle bit of splicing. I'd like to see those mug examples though, Gamer. I'll try and figure out what I plan on doing with the armor soon-ish. For now, the head is basically set in stone, neh?

Made the outlines and stuff a little bit darker. Adjusted lighting where necessary.

Speak for yourself. Kaarina had red hair before it was cool. :P

Also thanks again for making the sprites, SC. As a talentless scrub I can't thank you enough.

Yes, but half of the female characters in the game have red hair. It's gotten a bit excessive is what we're trying to say. Not that anybody is complaining.

I'm not intending to ship Gordon, no. Unless someone really wants to ship with a 50-year-old man :p
He could use some more supports so he can Guard more often, but romance is pretty much off the table.

This character will only be shipped if I can find some lucky guy (or girl) who are interesting enough. xD

Waiting for those mughseets, Gamer. *whistles*.

As far as ability goes, currently I can do basic redrawing, a liiittle bit of original work, and splicing fairly well.

I've already got the 3-in-one for 6, 7, and 8 so don't bother posting that. (It doesn't have the expressions though, just the base sprites, so the 8 and 6 ones are handy. ;D)

Well, I tried a bit of splicing between Elend and Eliwood's mother. Actually quite hard since the perspective's slightly different, not sure how well it turned out. = \
This is her 'pretty pretty princess' look. Maybe I should have her introduced while wearing these clothes? ;D

Still subject to modification.

Also, I've tried changing the armor's color scheme.

And *then* I decided to upgrade the lighting a little bit since I have a larger color palette than the original artists. I'm not sure if I like it more or less, but it was pretty fun to do.
