Your all expecting a group that has us outnumbered, out gunned and has far superior fighters in every respect to just happily let us move in.

Where as I expect that they are not going to want us here. Maybe your all right. Or maybe I'm right we'll have to wait and see. But I suspect theres a reason the Gnolls lives so far away from everybody else.
Just like there's a reason the Norse lived so far from England...England was already taken, so they were stuck with staying in Scandanavia.
Sure, they raided it for a while, but eventually they started trading with the English and such. It didn't even start that recently!

The way we get them to let us stay here is to give them a reason to do that. Trade, or if they're greedy rent/tribute.

Ok, Kyle, get that shield down! It's bombing time.

Uhuh. Good luck with that. I'm gonna continue preparing to save you all when negotiations fail.

Lol what happened to a summon taking the bomb in? We don't even know the core is in the chest yet, what if it's in the neck or the head?

Well, if nobody needs me I'll be back when either A. everyone turns their actions in, or B. if i detect an argument.

I may be checking in from time to time.

Well all the actions will probably not be until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest anyway.

I'm only throwing the medium bomb. the XL one is still in holding for direct delivery to the core.

Should I continue to explain historical precedent, explain basic psychology/game theory, or just assume you'll continue deflecting my arguments with absolutely nothing except arrogance?

Even if it does fail it's worth a shot, I don't want to have constant conflict with people if it can be avoided.

And, of course, it'll be easier to diplomance if Torban doesn't attempt to murder them the first chance they get. Some historians suspect that the inability of the Greenland Norse to coexist peacefully with Newfoundland natives during their expeditions there was due in part to their first interactions apparently including a test to see what happens when they are wounded.

Just assume.

The fact that it happened once upon a time does not mean it will happen that way this time.
All you really have to go on in the game is that you hope they will react the way you want.
These are not the native americans, we are not european settlers.

You hope they'll allow it thats fine. It's your opinion. I don't think they will. Thats my opinion. Neither of us has had any interaction with gnolls and what happened IRL in the past has nothing to do with this game.

I won't attack them unless they make a hostile move so go ahead and try to negotiate. I don't think it'll do any good but it's not my choice. I'll start killing them if and when my opinion proves to be the correct one. If it doesn't then thats great but everybody just walking in as if the world will adapt to fit what we want will get us killed.

Somebody has to be prepared for if it doesn't go the way you all hope it will. Do you really need to start arguing again just because my opinion differs to yours? Should I just start calling you god and accept that you can't possibly be wrong?

Of course we are going to be cautious it's not like any of us are going to go waltzing in without any weapons. I would prefer to at least try to talk though first, it's better getting in a sticky situation once than having an unprovoked war with a race that would have just left us alone if we had talked to them.

Should I quote how many times in the last 10 minutes I said I'd let you lot try your way first? Because your still bringing up how I'm wrong while I've already agreed to let you try your way completely ignoring the fact that I already said it.

Here let me try it again.

I WILL WAIT UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED TALKING. THEN KILL THEM IF IT GOES WRONG.

The fact that it happened once upon a time does not mean it will happen that way this time.
1. It did not happen once upon a time, it happened many times throughout history.
2. I'm not saying it will happen this way, I'm saying it can, and that the potential advantages outweigh the meager risks.

People are people. Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose. Is it really appropriate to assume that the gnolls are indeed murderous territorial monsters, and not people reluctant to war and open to compromise as very nearly every group of people in history has proven to be?

What, you think that no one else is going to be raising arms against the gnolls if they attack? Carl won't, but that's because he's not a combat character, not because he's opposed to it.

The point I'm trying to make is. Your all hoping it will go right and not thinking about the consequences if it doesn't.

So as many governments today do. I'm going to assume your plan fails and make a contingency for that eventuality. Or rather I made it. 3 days ago when I realized you would all want to try it that way first. My plans preparations are already under way.
