One last thing, chan you guys check my stat sheet and give any tips? I think I got it set up correctly for shooting things in the face with explosives, but I want to make sure
Well, it's mostly correct, although there's no "Wis", this isn't that kind of game. I mean, literally, wisdom is the ultimate dump stat here. The sixth stat is "Wil", as in "Willpower".

Also, you may want to shift a point from Uncon to Con. The profession bonus is a roll bonus, meaning you will still have +1 to Con due to skill level, and +1 to Uncon due to the bonus, but Con is more important to shooting things in the face, so you may want to get another bonus in that sooner.

Alternatively, I'd suggest moving the point to Intuition or Aux. You never know when you'll have to guess something or interact with a computer, and not having a -1 penalty really helps.

Sure:

-Move a point from cha to int or vise versa. Or take the 4 points from cha and int and put them towards something else. Remember, 2 = 0 in terms of bonuses to rolls for stats. I's say put 1 point from cha to int (cha is almost never ever used).
-pull 1 point from uncon, put it in something you have a 0 for. Because 1 = 2 in terms of bonuses to rolls for skills. As Sean said ninja'd, aux or intuition could be helpful. I'd recommend aux personally.

I'd also prefer aux, due to the fact I see him disassembling plenty of explosives to make one bigger charge :P

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Well, that's a handiwork roll.  AUX is useful for programming, and working with complex machinery, so it's good if you want the bombs to walk around and only explode when they see a particular face.

This game actually hates a dedicated explosives expert.

Something tells me you're just baiting.

Yeah, it's kinda obvious.

Hey, Syv, they're onto you buddy. Quick, diversion! Run for cover! Smokebombs!

Anyways, what is a 'Miyamoto fighter' even supposed to be? Him in a shuttle flying 'round shooting dudes?

It's only half baiting.  I'm actually fully behind the idea.

A "Miyamoto fighter" is a short way to say "An Avatar of War, in the shape of a space fighter, equipped with a universal manip/amp, and a pilot who can use it".  I'm sure Radio remembers chopping a massive skyscraper in half- and the blade not even slowing down and traveling into the upper atmosphere?  Well, I'd imagine that would be effective against a spaceship.  Especially seeing as they're apparently longer than they are wide (See: the Sword).

Beyond that, this fighter would be incredibly tiny in comparison to a cap. Ship.  They would be shooting at it with rounds that are no larger than it.  And it's small size would justify a large cost in stealth tech, because it's still vastly cheaper than a ship.  Even if the stealth stuff doubled it's size, it would still be small and cheap.

Only real problem is finding enough pilots.  You need someone who won't be controlled by the avatar, is skilled with space magic, willing to have their legs chopped off (or is already a brain-in-a-jar?), and fine with being shot at by cap. Ships.  After all, even an Avatar will go down if it's shot by a slug the size of a bus that's heading at a significant fraction of c.

The baiting comes in when you realize I don't think anything will come of this (or any of the other specualation people do in OOC).

My other idea is to eventually have a weapon that shoots special rounds that explode with the same effect of a manip overload, if that's possible...
Possible, but not cheap and probably not wise.

I'm not sure if any explosives use Uncon, mass murder manipulators and potential exploding swords disregarded. Maybe actual grenade launchers, being more ballistic weapons than regular firearms, could be using it.
Mortars?

Eh. You don't need great accuracy to kill enemies, if you've got enough power (radius/boom). Granted, you'll want that skill to avoid killing yourself...

That's...actually not a bad idea.

Yeah, that was awesome. Still, I think that thing dissipated after a while, I doubt it'd keep going to the end of times.

Anyways, while the spacefighter idea might (big maybe right here) be workable using ER tech (magics ho!) I think the big problem will be the vast distances of space. Getting anywhere in any sort of reasonable time might be problematic. In cases where the ships are very (in space terms) close to each other and the planet though, it might (might) have a chance.

Still, I like the idea of a synthflesh fighter, but I think it'd work best for atmospheric operations. There, distances aren't quite so vast.

Hmm, imagine... a synthflesh fighter that transforms into an Avatar... scary (basically an Avatar with some really big rockets).

Exactly what I was thinking of when I posted, yes. That, or a disposable jet unit or something.

Dealing with the vast distances of space might not be too hard. Give it a carrier with plenty of fuel, throw in manip use for emergencies, and you're pretty good.

True, it would probably be something like a knife in a gun fight.  An invisible monomolecular vibro knife that flies under it's own power, but a knife nonetheless.

The way I see it, it's actually more feasible in space.  There, there's no atmosphere to interfere with stealth, or to cause drag.  A magic space fighter would be able to travel under it's own power, and it would only need to push itself once whereas an atmospheric fighter requires a constant push.  If they really need to save brain power, then they could be fired from a cap. ship.

They wouldn't be able to attack in the same round that they're launched most likely, but I doubt they would be flying along for the whole battle.  If we had such things at the beginning of this battle, how differently would it have gone by now?  What if we had launched the stealth fighters before we even launched boarders?  If stealth tech is good enough, they might even be able recharge mind points while sitting within spitting range.

All of this is conjecture of course.  I just think the idea is neat.  Someone else will probably have to research it in VR, because I have a lot of stuff I want to do first.  Again, I doubt anything will ever come up with it. If we ever design one, I vote to call it a Shade fighter; It's a small version of a ghost ship, and stealth based.  A shade is a type of ghost, and shade is used for stealth.

Goddamn, it's just so appropriate.

Pfff, you do it yourself, ya lazy bum!  :P

Anyways, maybe if one had mental reserves in the range of AM or Amp specialist it'd be possible, but if not, and with the distances involved... I dunno. Too many uncertainties to draw a good, or even informed, conclusion right now. And I'm already posting in two threads, so don't wait for me to research it.

I demand bi-modal synthflesh gundam fighter jet's.

Hell they'd be easier to translate into ER than lightsabers or stealth suits.

There is no stealth in space. It's simply not possible. I will concede that with enough automanips, you can work around the fact that fighter-sized craft make no sense whatsoever due to manoeuvring (and size) constraints, but there is no stealth in space. At the very least, it will need life support for a brain, and that alone will make it shine like a beacon compared to the 2-3K background. Radar absorbent design and materials? Fine. Plain old invisibility? Sure, though there's not much point. But you're going to stand out from any source of heat, and that includes the support systems.

What about automanips that magic away the exces heat?

I think using automanipulators for that would be quite inefficient. Automanipulators don't have unlimited charges after all.
