Oh shit that's what you meant. I interpreted it to mean the same thing as back and forth; just away from you and toward you rather than side to side. IT WILL BE FIXED

Now the poll is kind of ugly but everyone so far is included~

I actually have to systematically go through almost all of those motions whenever I'm stirring something, and if I stop partway through, I have to start again from the beginning or it doesn't feel like I've stirred it enough.

Normally it's clockwise, until it makes a slight vortex, then switch to counterclockwise, until a new vortex forms, then a quick horizontal left to right slash, followed by a Z, then a W, then a diagonal top-right to bottom-left slash, going into a clockwise spin, turning into a figure eight. I then have to scrape the sides from top to bottom to make sure nothing sticks, and redo the entire process.
I then tap the side of the bowl/cup to make sure the ripples go from the entire circumference at once, and meet in the center.
I'm right handed, by the way, thankfully I don't feel the need to do anything with my left hand during this arduous process.

I changed my answer, because I really do mostly stir counter-clockwise, I always start that way, and it feels natural to do it that way.

I stir thin liquids in counterclockwise circles with my right hand. This is where I will place my vote because this poll has too many options already.
I stir thicker substances using my right hand to stir in small counter-clockwise circles while moving in larger circles in whichever direction. I hadn't actively noticed this before.
