Shells landing this turn: 5The first shell lands at the light forest on the westernmost side of Aecrocia. It appears to be an incendiary shell, sparking flames at the edge of the forest which are spreading quickly.
The second shell, also incendiary, lands in the trees at the southern gate of the Magis Kingdom, and seems to start small fires, not as big as the first one. Still, if it spreads, it could be dangerous to the inhabitants of the Magis.
The third shell lands also near where the first shell landed, and digs deep into the ground before exploding, creating a crater about fifty meters wide.
The fourth shell lands at the mouth of the delta that centers the Atisi village, burrowing into the ground next to one of the houses, and explodes deep in the ground, causing very unstable cracks in the earth. Part of one of the houses sags into the ground, and the darkness below the surface can be seen through the web of cracks.
The fifth shell lands near the governmental complex that Arnequer used to be at, but fortunately is a dud and does not explode.
Uh oh. UH oh. UH OH!!!
Slam the door shut and seal it as best I can. Hope no one finds this cave, and start quickly planting what small fungi I have. Plump helmets, anyone?
RuneYou slam the door shut, causing some cracks in the stone. Whoops. Well, it's mostly sealed, isn't it?
You then start to look for some fungi. You find some red-pinkish fungi growing in the back of your cave, which you subsequently replant in another organized part of the cave. Looks to be about seven of them. Unfortunately, they're pretty young, and you're also sure that these are also the same ones that taste very bitter when mature. Again, ah well. It's food. You still need drink though.
The volcano shakes as you hear something like strikes of thunder from the western side of the island.
"Owowowowow!"
gently rub my left wrist with my right hand, and carefully work it back into shape.
LirianThe pain in your wrist increases as you try to rub it into a better condition, and you think you hear some bones cracking.
Injury not changed, experiencing painYou back yourself near the tree as you hear the projectiles hitting west of you. You don't know where exactly, but it sounds close to the beach. You don't see any explosions, but you certainly
hear them. More of them are still coming.
Grab whatever knifes/tools are still left in the forge, and then follow him to the volcano!
UnknownYou go back in, once again bumping your head, and look for items. You find a variety of items!
- (1) Steel sword [New!]
- (1) Rucksack
- (1) Hammer
- (3) Random assorted meats
You then head outside, following the blacksmith. You make it about 1/3 of the way to the volcano before the shells start hitting. Thankfully, none of them hit anywhere near you, except maybe one that landed right outside of Magis.
Not yet, at least.
Cecil runs to the radio room for one last broadcast.
"Citizens of Aecrocia! I do not know how much time you or I have, dear listeners, but you must find shelter, for we are under attack!"
He shuts the radio off for what feels like the last time before making a run for the emergency stairs.
Cecil G. PalmerIn your run for the emergency stairs, you don't really notice where you are stepping, as you look back at the flares of light coming from the shells that hit the western fields of Aecrocia. They spark flames which look really dangerous considering that they're pretty much at the edge of a dense forest. Wait, where were we? Oh yeah, stairs...
You trip down the first flight of stairs before you slam into the wall, giving you a nasty bruise on the head and stunning you really badly.
Oh dear.
Stunned. -2 to all movement rolls for one turn.
Run for the village! Warn them!
Warren DrakeYou run as fast as you can, but you are blocked by trees and your own thoughts. Also, the shaking of the ground as the shells begin pounding the island doesn't help either.
1/4 of the way to the village.
Keep going! Save my kitten!
Cromwell JacksonYou end up tripping down more stairs and nearly crushing your kitten inside your backpack. This causes your ankle injury to worsen, and it is very hard to step with your right foot without sending shards of pain flying through your leg.
Moderate pain, ankle worsened, kitten is out of breathYou try to pick yourself up. In the distance you hear the projectiles hitting the earth, and you can only hope that none of the explosions make it your way. Or the kitten's way, either.
"Mew."
Wait
Diana CrownYou wait at the statue. You hear the footsteps of soldiers marching to the gates, and see a projectile land at the south gate, near the beach, which goes up in flames and starts spreading a fire. Not good. Other than that, none of the other projectiles have yet landed near you.
So you keep waiting.
(No roll for you, since you did not move or anything)
If projectiles are coming toward the town, take cover in the woods. If they are coming toward someplace that's not the town, take cover back in town. And if they're flying everywhere, take cover in a general fashion.
Eh AhYou decide that the best form of cover is to push people out of the way and make it to one of the bakeries in the center of the town. Eh, it works. None of the projectiles land in the town, save for one that almost makes your heart jump as it simply plants itself several meters into the ground. It does not detonate, however, which is okay for the time being.
It does remind you, however, that there is still room for more shells to hit. And even more explosive than this one, which did not go off at all.
Run with my remaning energy.
Alex RamanYou make it to the edge of the forest. You see people taking cover and some warriors forming up and exiting the village with bows, to hide in the forest and ambush when the time comes. You do not see your girlfriend yet, however, which makes you wonder what might be happening right now. As the village comes into your line of sight, you see a shell land at the delta, creating a large thumping noise and making a depression of land, with cracks and all, as if an earthquake had just hit there. A house is nearly broken by it, but otherwise no one was hit.
Enter the main shelter, consider my options from here.
((I'm actually a tad lost on this one. My first impulse is to wait and see after I reach safety..))
ArnequerYou enter the shelter. It is a large, rectangular building that has an incredibly high ceiling, and with a field in the middle for recreational use, about the size of a small lake. Rows of mats and sleeping bags are lined up, and small food and drink stockpiles are set up, along with other stockpiles such as clothing. Bright field lights have been set up to keep the place well-lit, and the sound of thumps can be heard in the background as the shells begin to land.
You could support the people working here as emergency workers, or you could find somewhere else to stay. You could also try and contact government workers to see what is going on here.
(I PM'ed you the map, by the way.)
NOTICE: SIGN UP IS RE-OPENED FOR ONE MORE CHARACTER SINCE MEME HAS NOT RESPONDED.Also, I am disappointed in myself that this update was late. However, I got it done. So here it is.
I had to wait until I finished the map of Aecrocia until I could start the shelling of the island. No serious explosions yet, but be careful. Also, more injury! Yay!
Enjoy.
