((Computers, huh. I was running on an assumption involving the middle ages. This is modern, then?))

((The island has three different cultures/nations. One is modern, one is high medieval, the third is... tribal? low medieval? I'm not entirely sure to be honest.))
((Severe technology disparity, eh?))

Yes. The island nation itself has distinct technology segregation; the Atisi are, well, just about tribal. Not exactly though, they're a bit more advanced than that; they do have a communal attitude though.. The Aecrocians are obviously pretty present tech; however, they're still using break-action and muzzle-loading weapons. They're developing bolt-action, but that's still experimental on this island.

The technology of the outsiders is not known.

And yes, I'm still gonna throw even more plot twists at you.
And you may or may not be getting your powers soon.

Stay tuned.

Also, Meme, I still need you to fill out your last parts. I will PM you about it, if you're not able to play this turn I'll have to free your slot.

AUGH sorry guys, there's no internet in Canada apparently.

"Oh Father, she sounds like such a wonderful person, full of life stories, and beautiful too!" Cecil smiles broadly at his father and peers outside.

"Ooh, when did those ships pull into the harbour?"

Realize it's hopeless and try to sweet-talk my way outside to find something to report about.

Cautiously head outside and see exactly what's happening.
Unknown
You head outside, bumping your head on the door as you exit. You first look at the ships, which are now heading towards the island on stirred-up waters. A flare, red in color, is falling down past the ships. You search with your eyes anything launched, but it is only until you look up that you see some black dots making a trail towards the island. They are high up in the air, but it won't take long for them to fall back down to earth. The blacksmith appears behind you, having a backpack of sorts on his back and holding a box full of assorted items.

"Get movin', son. I know a cave someway back o' the volcano. Mayhap we can use it some 'til these hooligans pass by."

"How awful. Now many people are likely to die horrible, pointless deaths once again. Why can't people just be nice to one another?"

Wonder. Then get back to work.
Eh Ah
You start heading back to the fish market where you work, on the northwest side of the island. You look back for a moment at the Atisi who is retreating into the forest, looking for cover. You decide maybe you should hurry a bit faster to your workplace, so you start jogging. Around you, people are screaming and running for their lives, pushing each other around and covering their children. Overhead, the projectiles are still making their way to the island, but it won't be long.

The day is still oddly sunny with bright clouds, even with the situation as it is.

Dash outside, and stare in awe as all of this happens. Crap. Start sealing the edges of the stone. Hopefully they wont find me, and I have enough food in here for months! And booze.
Rune
You struggle with the stone wall but fail to seal it properly. It opens at an odd angle, and seems to be somewhat unstable. Nevertheless, you run back inside and check your stock...

...you have nothing. At least, not much to call "stock" rather than immediate provisions. You have enough to last you maybe today, tomorrow, and the third day. Maybe, that is. Your booze is almost out also, but there is a running river not too far from the volcano. As long as you can survive the first day of bombardment you should be relatively fine and kicking.

You hope.

Great! I have to marry someone. At least it only for a short time. Oh right, the volley. It look thin there so if I hide behind that statue, I should be fine. And now panic.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Dive for cover.
Diana Crown
You go out to the statue in the middle of the deck. It is a twenty foot tall statue of... none other than your aunt, who had it commissioned about a year ago. Ah well. It has a small, dry area behind it that may have served as a small pond sometime ago. You take cover behind the statue, hiding your head below your arms. You assume your aunt has probably gone to some snake hole that she's stored her wealth and finest wines in, where she may last for years with her fill of resources. You could probably survive well in the forest, provided that you lived through the shelling. You're a tough fighter, that's what your kingdom specializes in.

Hey, at least you don't have to worry about bombings and marriage anymore, right?

Right...

"Warships?" The word was a whisper as the implications sunk in. War. Cities weren't just attacked by brigands, much less this well armed. This was a nation. Thousands would die, more wounded. Another glance at that plaque showed it still read Department of Health Services. "This is going to be so tedious."

Leave the building, disregard coworkers. Think back, where are the city's shelters? Go to the nearest one. There's probably a map to it. This is a government building, after all.
Arnequer
You exit the building with little thought of your coworkers, who are busily punching in phone numbers and running amok, not helping to calm down the maelstrom of events. You swear you heard one worker complain on the phone about how his bachelor's party is going to have to be delayed because of all of this.

Even when their lives are in danger, they still have time to plan parties. Aristocracy does wonders to the human mind.

You look for a government map. Conveniently you find one, not too far from your work space.

Knowledge acquired: Detailed map of Aecrocia
((I will PM you the map of the island soon, so as not to give that knowledge to the other players yet.))

After looking over the map, you head northeast to Summer Hall, a large recreational facility that has been designated as the main city shelter. Other smaller buildings scattered about have also been assigned as emergency shelters. As you push through small crowds of civilians you look up, spotting the trails of smoke that lead to the incoming hazards.

Oh, why does your job have to be the hardest? At least you make a wonderful salary.

run toward the direction of my town/city The radiers will feel the pain of icy death if they hurt my girl or my friends.
Alex Raman
You climb down from the tree and start heading towards the Atisi village, not sparing any time at all. The forest whizzes by you as you go in the direction that you saw the wooden buildings from. It'll take you some time, but you'll get there. Due to your natural running ability, you easily put some good distance between you and the spot you were at before.

You just pray that the shells won't hit the village.

You've covered about 2/3 the way to the village this turn.

Hang on tight to my tree branch, and watch.

((Assuming the people on those ships can aim, I'm safest here, where there isn't anything worth bombing.))
Lirian
The wind picks up very fast. You aren't able to keep steady on your branch and fall off. As you fall you stretch out your hand for another branch to safely swing off/on to; however, you find nothing but hard ground, which jams your left wrist. Fortunately it's not broken, but your wrist is unusable at this time and hurts very badly.

Injury Acquired: Left Wrist jammed

You edge back near the tree, working on the conclusion that the shells shouldn't hit too close to you, provided that there's nothing worthwhile in this portion of the forest. Besides, you can run fast. There's not much to worry about right now.

Unless that weird spirit girl comes back again, however.

Take cover!
Warren Drake
You hastily run towards the forest again, hoping that the lack of valuable targets within the forest will make you safe. You make a not-so-graceful jump over the fence and look back, your acquaintance from Aecrocia already gone. Making sure not to trip on the root that got you over here anyways, you start looking for some dark area you could maybe hide in within the forest. You can almost hear the projectiles whistle at this point.

You pray you're not too late.

Hold backpack to my chest to shield it, and evacuate the tar out of this situation!
Cromwell Jackson
You wade in the crowd of employees that has formed near the elevator. Unfortunately it's far too thick of a crowd to get to the elevator fast enough, before the first shell strikes. You decide to take the emergency stairs which plenty of people are already taking. The kitten scratches around inside the backpack, curious to the events as of late. You wonder what that one man was talking about. Seventy years? You weren't around then to see what happened. Did this island get involved in a similar event back then? Or was it worse than before? Are these people back for revenge or something?

You can only wonder as you make your way down the flights of stairs, and then proceed to trip over your own feet. You end up at the edge of one level of stairs, and the kitten seems to be okay. You seem to have really, really hurt your right ankle, however, which slows you down somewhat. You can still go down the stairs, though, it's just that you have lost some of your speed.

Injury acquired: Right ankle sort-of twisted

AUGH sorry guys, there's no internet in Canada apparently.

"Oh Father, she sounds like such a wonderful person, full of life stories, and beautiful too!" Cecil smiles broadly at his father and peers outside.

"Ooh, when did those ships pull into the harbour?"

Realize it's hopeless and try to sweet-talk my way outside to find something to report about.
"Yes, indeed, she is quite beautiful! But mainly it's-"

Your father seems quite cheery, not having gotten the full message of your sarcasm. He looks out to the ocean and spots the projectiles heading your way now.

"Eh, erm. I must go now! Take care of the building for me, will you?"

He pushes past you and takes the elevator down. The only elevator down. Other than that, there is a small emergency staircase you could take. Or, you could man the emergency radios and urge people to get to the shelters.

Author's Note: Touchdown in one turn, ladies and gentlemen. Get ready. Also, the reason I am PM'ing Arnequer's map is because I wanted to have it in the interest of knowledge only known to certain people is kept to certain people. That way this can be more fun.

Not much plot twist in this one. Well, I am guiding it a bit, but I'm mostly letting you take free reign with this chaos twister at this point.

Oh, and Puffer, no problem, it happens :D.

Cecil runs to the radio room for one last broadcast.

"Citizens of Aecrocia! I do not know how much time you or I have, dear listeners, but you must find shelter, for we are under attack!"

He shuts the radio off for what feels like the last time before making a run for the emergency stairs.
