Welcome to Reclaimers! After deciding that Pikes, Peasants & Pillocks was a little too far out of my scope considering my circumstances, I've opted for an RTD that's lighter on art and heavier on writing, which is something I'm altogether better at. There will still be some eye-candy to give players a visual idea of their surroundings and the like, however.
FluffThere was a time when space was vast and empty. To be fair, it's still vast. However, it hasn't been empty ever since the first cosmonaut chucked an empty packet of dried noodles out of the first colony ship. A good few centuries have passed since then, and even a single century is enough time for a few things worth picking up to get lost in the great black expanse between stars. You and your band of brothers, known as 'reclaimers' to yourselves (and 'thieving little wankers' to most of the civilised peoples of the galaxy), specialise in just that - picking up the stuff that the previous owner either didn't want or was considerate enough to die in possession of. Your quarry ranges from anything between derelict trade shuttles staffed entirely by asteroid beetles to sprawling abandoned complexes on icy planetoids. If it looks mostly unoccupied and you're pretty sure it won't fall apart while you're peddling it to a used frigate salesman, it'll shortly be yours. If it's worth something, pocket it. If it isn't worth something, pocket it anyway and throw it at something that looks like it has a valuable hide. If it looks as though pocketing it would cause you to burst into flames... well, what's a little risk considering how much venusian ale the earnings will buy for you? The only way you can know what awaits you is if you put your best foot forward and try not to get the other one(s) caught in the airlock on your way out. There won't be a bespoke attribute system, but as stated before, rolls may incur bonuses or maluses depending on personal skills, circumstances and the difficulty of the task at hand.
Note that your surroundings may become gradually more lethal should the waitlist (if it arises) become sufficiently large.
Infighting and conflict within the group is perfectly fine, but a horrible accident may befall anybody who deliberately causes trouble within the group for little or no reason.

Edgrick has a big red beard and big red hairy hair. He likes to decorate his spacesuit with a chainmail kind of motif. His eyes are frequently glazed and excessively blue. He has very clean teeth. He is quite tall. He looks very ready.
Bio:
Edgrick ended up in this ragtag band of scavengers thanks to the power of fate. One day, he was just walking down the spacestreet near his spacehouse when there was a terrible spacecar accident. Hearing the screams and seeing the tearing metal, he knew he had to help! Luckily, he was carrying his hip mounted laser cutter holsters - with his twin wielded laser cutters in them! He dashed across the spacestreet and immediately set to work, laser cutting the spacecars to pieces. Just as he'd finished, another car came along and stopped, and he laser cut this one to pieces too. Someone jumped out and said, whoa, man, you are just the type of brave space explorer I'm looking for to join me on a quest! Edgrick was like, yea, for I seeketh a quest. Can I bring my laser cutters? The jumping out man replied, sure, they'll probably be quite handy, and Edgrick said, look, they kind of do reverse suction too, and he welded the bits of spacecar together to form a lump of metal. That evening, he wrote a simple letter of goodbye to his loved ones, and set off for fame and glory.

Character Name: Anjum Tolt'taar
Species: Nomad/Quasi humanoid species that lives entirely in the depths of space-forced to wear protective suits when mingling with non-Nomad species due to poor immune systems, and generally are at a disadvantage in anything aside from low or zero gravity. Very well adapted to reclamation work and the rigors of space-they are capable in most realms of technology and science, but poor fighters-preferring to avoid or out-think an opponent then face them head on.
Gender: Male (Undecided)-Nomads are capable of psychologically becoming either gender at some point in their lives, usually around 20 years, at which point they become much like any other humanoid. Anjum prefer 'he', though he has not made any decisions yet.
Specialization: Mercenary
Equipment: Scanbot (A baseball sized, independent drone with a personality.), Nomad Multitool (Pocket sized future swiss-army knife), Scanscreen (Data display device-can be used in conjuction with scanbot-many other functions possible.)
Appearance: Anjum's roughly humanoid body is large and skinny-over seven feet-with large, three fingered hands. His appearance and face is sealed behind a suit, however-a sealed suit-vest and pants sort of combination, made of a composite of light ceramic scrap, cobbled from the designs of many different species. It looks patchwork but is surprisingly durable and dependable. Where his face would be, is a darkened faceplate-only rudimentary human features can be seen through the blue-tinted glass.
Bio:
Anjum was until recently something of a Noble among Nomad-kind, insofar as the Nomads can be said to have a privileged class by right of genetic superiority-Anjum is considered at least 89% viable for producing healthy children, and in a species with nearly a crippling lack of population growth, that makes him quite unique. Unfortunately, he's also a bit of a screw up. Falling asleep on a route scan-job (after a night of partying) caused the near loss of an entire destroyers worth of Nomads to a spatial anomaly-only the slimmest of margins kept it from becoming a total disaster.
Anyone else would have been banished for life from the fleet, or maybe even put to death. Anjum, due to his particular nature, was given a reprieve-five standard years away from the fleet to 'meditate' on his foolish actions. Until that time is passed, he cannot return. So he finds himself looking for work, lamenting his loss...and hoping he can survive until they let him back home.

A slender formed female, about the age of a teenager. Green haired and green eyed. About average height, maybe slightly taller. When not in spacesuit, wears a grey and green-themed light jacket/coat. Wears her hair in a ponytail most of the time. Sometimes wears emerald earrings for effect.
Bio:
Scion Vineras is a part of a band of roving "businesspeople" due to her love of the adventure. She is fond of space and, of course, adventure. Also, fruit loops. She loves fruit loops, though she won't admit that to anyone. She makes a grand show to everyone, acting the prime pirate, but she is rather lonely on the inside. She has two moods most of the time: serious and deadly, or playful and deadly. She's a crackshot with a revolver, which is her favorite weapon. Her parents are run a store front, but they are secretly wealthy drug dealers. She ran away from her parents in her childhood because she didn't want to end up like they did, wherever they are now. This is her story - the story before the Guardians.

Appearance:
A scrawny man with closely trimmed black hair, and with a matching goatee. He has a long, thin face, which is pocked with small scars. Also of note is that he lost the pinky finger of his right hand, which he seems to have adjusted his space suit accordingly for. His suit also has a special design painted on it in black and grey coloring, but otherwise isn't far from the norm.
Bio:
A bizarrely cheery engineer with a worrying amount of scars and old wounds, owing to certain jobs he's done in the past, but along with those wounds he apparently gained a fair amount of experience in his line of work.
He was once an owner of a small repair business known as Green Mechanics. Owner might be a bit of a misnomer, considering that it only really existed for a single month before going bankrupt. The quick failure is really entirely because of Wilson's inability to grasp anything financial and staunch refusal to hire anyone to handle that part of the business, because as he put it, 'If I can repair an engine with a bucket of scrap metal and ol' Angie here, I'm sure I can figure out how to sort out all that business stuff.' and as it turns out, he figured wrong.
Since then, he's moved from place to place, doing what work he could find that suited his talents, which recently lead him to this little group. He's still got a small hope of being able to start up his business again, but that assumes that he makes it through this without dying, which might be an unreasonable thought, given his tendency towards getting hurt.

Appearance:Somewhat short and wiry, with ropey muscles and numerous small scars. Piercing blue eyes. Tends to always be in motion, except when concentrating, when he is able to go for hours without motion. Wears rather casual clothing, sometimes sewn together out of other clothing.
Bio: Oz doesn't talk much about life before. There are times when he gets uncomfortably silent, when the conversation moves to personal matters, or when someone is talking about their children. There is a rumor that Oz owes some ruthless people a large amount of money. Oz denies this rumor.

Bio: Ja'Jan volunteered in the Concentrus Navy when his race was attacked in one of the wars that came to plague his people after they had become integrated into the galactic community. He can't remember which one, as there were so many. Alien species have SOOO many "taboos" that peace with them just becomes untenable. Silly barbarians. Oh well, it gave Ja'Jan the skills he needed to truly excel once he left the service.
Unfortunately this coincided with his family being massacred. Oops. Now he wants revenge on....someone. But before that detour, LOOTING TIME!
