Campaign

Okay then. Nikolai draws his sword and... runs towards the direction where Ike probably is. 2v20 is better than 1v20. North is running away from the soldiers right?

If they are close to catching him he will tsar the commwire finally goddammit and shout painfully loudly into their brains like an angry slavic banshee. And also I'm pretty sure the commwire can transmit images too (at least it did for Irene) so he will try to upload bright flashing lights and gross porn to their brains too. Speed of thought. And how about some images of the BETA and the army of zombies and tentacle monsters by the portal too. And Birdriver. And naked Alan. Just trying to shock them and wreck their morale.

Of course defend self with the sword and shield if necessary or possible.

((Oh, man. That action... That's just cruel. Should be banned by the Geneva Conventions or something. I'm even more confident I have the right entity for you now.))

You draw your sword and bravely run away towards where you think Ike is, trying to escape the shouts of "Get him!" and "Don't let him escape!" and other words you can't understand accompanying the footsteps behind you. You try to tsar your commwire once more... And then you step on something hard and slippery and fall face first into the ground.

You turn around, just in time to see another scout has caught up to you, moving to stab you with his sword. You keep trying to tsar your commwire, and this time you succeed, adding everything you have to the already enlarged object. You barely manage to retain consciousness as the now shackle-like wire digs into your body, causing you pain and draining every bit of strength you have, its weight pinning your leg to the ground.

Well, this is it then. Time to bring out the big guns. You give it everything you got, everything you can muster in this weakened state.

The scout running towards you cringes and comes to a halt, holding his head with one hand. You can see similar reactions from some of the other soldiers, especially the ones closest to you. One or two of them even fall to the ground. Ha! Take that!

Even now though the situation is still not good. If you had others to support you or take advantage of this, this could be a turning point. But now... You're still lying on the ground, you can't run very fast (if you manage to get up at all) and you're not sure how much longer this will keep them occupied, while most of them seem unaffected (whether by luck or skill you cannot say).

Campaign, Ike!
What do I see? What do I hear? What do I know? Anything? Nothing? Everything? It's likely the middle one.

Nevertheless, mentally tabulate what's exactly happening right now. Am I presently stabbing somebody in the face, perhaps? That can happen sometimes when you're not paying attention with these magic hands of mine.

Well, you just saw Nikolai get up, a giant rock fly up and then gibs. And there was an alarm sound before that (no exclamation marks above their heads though). And now Nikolai is running towards your general direction, being chased by almost everyone, pointing at him with hands or swords and shouting stuff. I think that image is pretty self-explanatory.

And then he stumbles and falls face first into the ground. Quality.

And then you get mindfucked. You can't help but empty the contents of your stomach in the face of something like that. It's an involuntary reaction. The screaming in your head, the images... It's best not to give a full account. Let's just say it's a sort of mental sensory overload combined with something else.

Alan giggles slightly.

"See? They're awesome, right?"

"That... that worked? Wow, okay. Um, sorry for doubting you."
"No probs, Irine! My ideas only explode around 87 percent of the time, after all.

While we're waiting for the situation to explode, perform an entertaining dance.
Dance roll:2 ((Should ask Toaster for John to give you some dance lessons. Get that +1 to Dance he has.))
You stand completely still, having a flashback about a cool dance you just did. Though you do not actually dance.

But then some very... shall we say strange? Yeah, let's go with that. Some very strange thoughts reach you. And your companions, judging from their reactions. Yet the woman and her children appear to be fine.

It's not unpleasant, but there are images on your mind, and some of  them are... well, you do look slightly better in the moonlight, I suppose, even with a broken leg.

I remove my commwire, and put it in a pocket.
"oww."
I then return to curling up in a corner, holding one of my tails, and resting and waiting.

Alan takes this mental assault as a challenge. He can pose much more provocatively than that!

Attempt to flood the psychic net or whatever's assaulting me with a large number of memories of the one time I broke into a Playboy studio and made the photographers take explicit pictures of me.

"Ha! There's more where that comes from!"
The commwire can transmit sounds and sights, maybe it can transmit other senses? Pain's a sense. Try to broadcast PURE EXCRUCIATING AGONY! And if that doesn't seem to be working switch to very painful sounding sounds and very painful looking images. Sorry to any friends in the area.

Meanwhile get up, or at least get in a more defensive position. Shield up, sword up, defensive stance.
If no one's immediately attacking me and I have a moment quickly lower my scarf and chug some energy potion Red Bull for energy.

Campaign, Ike!

How sad to lose such a wonderful lunch so early in the day.

Steel myself for horror and try to make sense of who I'm supposed to stab. Probably those villagers running after Nikolai.

In any case, stay down and recover for a moment. Get myself back into top form.

Listening to Alan's philosophized backstory and Irine's responses (along with everything else in between), Theri had a familiar and distinct feeling that she could help with Alan's thinking, having a bit of experience herself in thinking about those situations and understanding several of the feelings he spoke about.

She noticed Irine's movements and decided to mimic her, putting away the commwire safely. She gave Alan a pat on the shoulder before he tried anything, and sat adjacent to Irine. She smiled at her, before sitting with her knees tucked up and looked at her feet.

"Hey. Thoughts there?"

You prevent further SAN losses.
But that image of Alan making a little boy happy will haunt you forever.

Alan takes this mental assault as a challenge. He can pose much more provocatively than that!

Hmm... Everyone around you except for Zechariah have removed their comm wires... Would DAF do the same if he could post, I wonder? Nah, why would he want to miss such an opportunity? So I guess you'll be educating Zechariah on the beauty of the human Alan body by showing him how you posed for a guy and made him photo you like one of his french girls.

"Ha! There's more where that comes from!"

((Every mission is more or less its own game. That was the point of making missions so versatile. Almost anything goes. But hey, if it's boring you, I guess we could abstract some things. We'll be doing that anyway, if you get on the road again. And, you know, stop dying.))

Product placement? What product placement? This is Redd Bull, the fabled coffee created by Chief Redd Bull of the Sodari tribe, a traditional drink that was in that proud native Americans' history for generations. Its symbol is two crimson bulls over a cyan background. It's a completely original product, like Moka Cola or Dr. Piper. It says so right there on your left gauntlet, under the nutritional facts. I don't see what you're basing these unfounded allegations on.

You hum the Popeye theme and chug as much Redd Bull as you feel safe to do.
...
Nothing happens. You have no idea why you expected it to act as a sort of potion. Predictably, there is no immediate effect, beyond the placebo one.

You try to keep defending yourself via mental assault. This time you try switching tactics, but it appears that your opponents are getting used to this now that the initial shock has passed, for they seem mostly unaffected. Even the ones that had fallen down or were otherwise disabled have started getting back up again and making their way towards you. Only the scout closest to you appears to continue to be suffering from your mental attack, moaning in pain.

As you do that, you also try to find the strength to get up. You push and struggle, trying to get off the earth. But as you try to do that, something strikes you from behind, your armour making a loud *bonk* as it is hit and bent. At first you think it might have been a rock, because of the way it hit you. But then it starts to push against your armor, bending it and making it more and more cold. It's becoming heavier, not heavy enough to put you off balance, not yet, but still noticeable. Nevertheless, you manage to get up and start trying to get away as fat as you can.

You take a  moment to lament the loss of your lunch and recover from it. The assault on your mind continues, this time with feelings of pain, but you manage to ignore them, for now.

As for who to stab... Well, assuming you want to help, then yeah, you should probably start running towards them and try to stab them. The wizard especially, since he just hit Nikolai with something.

You protect yourself from harmful mental influences, relocate close to Irine and try to start a conversation with her.

Nah...

YES, YES HE WOULD
FOR THE SAKE OF ZECHARIAH'S SANITY, HE WOULD

After calming down and purging my mind of those images, go ahead and keep watching around and making sure that we're all safe.
((Make mental note to not abandon posting either, for the sake of Zechariah's health, purity, and innocence [well, whatever remains of it]))

Look around and get my bearings. How many soldiers can I see, how close together, how far away? Same guys as before with the big shields? Who has the high ground? Who the hell just hit me from behind?

Give one final blast of concentrated psychic pain, then shrink down the commwire and switch to a new tactic. Lunge at the scout in front of me and stab him in the stomach then tsar the sword.

If, for example, he dodges backwards and tsaring the sword would turn a miss into a hit then do that.

Keep my shield up and defensive. Contrary to what some videogames show, you don't have to lower your shield to attack.

You're linked with a being that could be called the god of singing, dancing, jokes, drinking and generally having fun, a being that constantly talks, says trivial stories about his exploits and makes references to various things, many of them from Earth worlds.

What I'm saying is, I wouldn't blame you for being OOC if you started singing something from earth, since you have a perfectly good explanation about where you heard it from.

You can also write/PM your general intentions and I can try to turn it into a song. I make no promises, but sometimes inspiration strikes me. For example, I have two bards with a slightly sad/hopeless mood-setting song planned if you enter a certain town.
