In the next breath, Sanya of Undead Labs goes on to mention that there's already a sequel in development. Not sure how to feel about that.

The game was released on the XBLA like five months ago. It makes sense for them to be working on other projects, especially with the PC version coming out of early access.

While I don't really care for embargo's either, it was in Early Access. It would be in poor taste to review any game before it was finished.

IMO, if they are selling it then it's fair game for reviews, they want the money they can deal with the press (good or bad) and as long as the review mentions it's still beta or whatever then it's just fine.

But then again, I think the current trend of selling alpha games in general is pretty terrible.

The 6 or so patches that have came out for this game have pretty much screamed "WE DON'T CARE ANYMORE".  Seriously, it took them 3 months and 6 patches to change keybindings, remove graphical ghosting and lessen bloom (as if those are even the main concerns).  At this point they're just milking this game as much as they can to fund their state of decay MMO.

The game hasn't even been in early access for a full two months yet. Let alone three. And I'm pretty sure keybindings were the main concern for a lot of players...

Yeah honestly if you are selling a game you are asking people to judge for themselves whether or not it is worth buying.

In other words you are asking for critiques and reviews.

If it is in "bad taste" to review a game while it is beta, then it is doubly in bad taste to release a game before it is ready and expect to make your sales off it.

I'm not a graphics whore (like any of us here could possibly be), but this game's graphics are atrocious for a "brand-new" PC game.  I buy a lot of console ports, and it seems like most developers put work into making use of PC-level resources, but this one looks like I plugged an Xbox into a desktop monitor.

I often find myself squinting at my monitor because some distant object looks like a blob.  Yes, I'm a little disappointed  ;D

So I've "demoed" this game, and though it seems nice, there is one huge showstopper for me:'
No way to turn off mouse acceleration!
I've been digging through the files, hoping there'd be a config text file, but no such luck.

Another game ruined by shoddy porting :(

If by demo you mean downloading what is most likely an old version so you didn't have to pay, pretty much all of the Early Access patches improved PC input in some way.

I've not tried with keyboard and mouse, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was better now.

It's not. Their latest 'release' patch still doesn't have key remapping.

'Coming soon!' Should be this company's slogan. I figure I just have to play SoD on Xbox to play it as the game they wanted it to be, not the shoddy PC port..

No need to mention it has a knack for overheating ATI cards, likely from laziness.

As far as I've heard, the update just made it worse...

Their last blog post mentions the next patch has changes to mouse acceleration.

We’ve already got the next patch planned out (and scheduled for a few weeks from now). It will include full key remapping, changes to mouse acceleration, and more.

When they said changes to mouse acceleration I really hope they meant removing it altogether.

Most likely they are going to do another stupid thing like changing "C" with "Ctrl". With the only thing fixed in the patch was stealth kill.
