Aren't we at a forum where "Losing is fun" a something like a credo?

If your guys and girls are ripped of from several zombies it sounds as intended isn't it?

Ah, just experienced my first feral death.
Here is the thing though... it took just one bite and let me go each time it pounced on me.  Still took hefty damage though.  I was initially running from a horde which I could have been patient and avoided....  but, no, I was being an impatient dumbass.  I knew she was a goner when I heard the Feral's roar while in the middle of running away.

Dodging does not seem to work when it pounces, at least when your back is turned toward it.

I was facing it when it happened.  Dodged away with B, (I don't know if that's really a dodge, but it looks like one and it makes me feel like I'm dodging.  Everyone knows morale is first priority when zombies attack) and he faceplanted a few feet away from me.  Easy kill, felt good.

Ferals are extremely dangerous though.  I've never seen a Brute yet, but I've hunted down every Feral I can manage and it seems to be working, haven't seen one in the past few (in-game) days.

Edit:  Things are getting hairier.  Seen a few brutes out in the distance, and ran over an exploder to my deep regret.  The fumes filled the cabin and I had to abandon the car out in the middle of nowhere at night.

Also, scariest game moment ever.  I'm still on my Marcus replacement, a kickass lady named Mackenzie Bishop.  I was on my way home when I saw a Brute right on the side of the road, along with a pack of zombies.  I hit the Brute with my car and the engine failed, my bladder joining it shortly after.

While I was trying my hardest to get the engine going again the regular zombies pulled off the door and dragged me out of the car.  I was sure that was it, but I managed to get away and find a new car.  I stay the fuck away from brutes now.

Even though this is about the PC version, is the XBLA version worth it?

While I did play the demo and thought it was good, does it get stale once you get established?

Naw, there's usually enough shit hitting the fan that you're constantly trekking about, trying to save everyone. It seems as time goes on (or you complete storyline missions, not sure which) the game gets progressively harder. More zombies, more infestations, more freak zombies, more survivors running around that you can save if you want. They've done a pretty good job at making it seem open world.

It does have an ending though, and while you can keep playing on afterwards the world will gradually become depleted. I guess by that time you'd have to start preying on survivors, which gives the game a rather sinister twist...

Sandbox mode looks like it is coming in...  and Undead Labs is trying to make it so that both PC and 360 are the same.  So if you are not getting it for the PC and already have a 360.  It is worth it.

No favortism, but...  I'm already seeing an icon indicating something about the RV and another tab(grayed out) in the booklet menu thing.  PC Early Access may become the testing grounds for Sandbox mode...  :P

EDIT: Also, started a new game and killed off Marcus and Maya...  It is pretty hard to get rolling... since I habitually murder new survivors who don't fit my criteria without a second thought.  So that means I have been using the same one survivor(witty and nimble) this whole time and she has injuries to her health bar.  Stamina is fine though since it recovers via controlled murder and the Pastor.

EDIT2: I picked up a psychopath as my second.  Nothing can go wrong now.

I've been playing for a few days and I'm loving it so far.

I like how one of the first missions in town is to get some meds at night. The two people with you say no cars. If you get in one, they bitch at you until you get out, and then bitch a bit more.

Fast forward to after the mission and I'm regularly running down entire hordes.

Completely unrelated: probably should have built a workshop instead of a garden as one of my two choices..

A Garden isn't a bad thing to build, if your not in the church.

Will the sandbox DLC release for PC the same time as XBLA?

Seems quite unlikely.  The PC version is still technically in beta and they probably still have most of their people working on the DLC to make sure it goes out clean for the 360.

Blargh. I already own this game on XBLA, but I'd like to get it on PC for the quicker patch releases, mods, keyboard/mouse input and improved graphics. I can't really justify spending that much money on something I already own, so I guess I'll wait until it goes on sale or something. Ah well :(

State of Decay is now out of Early Access and... the review embargo has been lifted. Had I known there was an embargo, I would not have bought it out of principle.

In the next breath, Sanya of Undead Labs goes on to mention that there's already a sequel in development. Not sure how to feel about that.

While I don't really care for embargo's either, it was in Early Access. It would be in poor taste to review any game before it was finished.

Usually review embargoes are pretty terrible, but I'd suggest it actually makes a hell of a lot of sense when the game is early access. On the one hand, if they're offering it for sale, maaaaybe we should be allowed to review it -- on the other, if the game is getting frequent updates, bugs are being fixed, the experience is being improved -- if the end product is going to be massively more polished than the current product, I think forbidding reviews is pretty reasonable. People are stupid. If they search up "State of Decay" and see a review from two months ago complaining that the PC release doesn't have any keyboard/mouse control, they might believe that review still accurately reflects the game, when it doesn't, at all.

Letting people review your half-broken, buggy game that isn't even officially out yet just doesn't make sense. The typical purpose of review embargoes (no reviews until a few days after release so people don't realize our game is awful) is obviously not what they were doing.
