Well, #1 we should send our measurements --and Barick's measurements as well-- to the smith, eh?

Also, sorry 3-Man. I'm way too anal about English, and I need to stop being so damned particular of it sometimes.

Call some meetings.

-Get Verack in and bounce your idea for a mercenary company off him. Ask if he thinks it would be a good investment and if he and his men would be willing to take on the roles of officers in a much larger organization. Reguardless of what he says about the company, give him the bonus to buy his men new gear and a contract for another month while we ponder bringing him in on a more long term deal.

-Call Sekhon Chakraborty to your audience chamber and size him up. Ask him frankly what is investment goals are, and compliment the sheer audacity he must have for buying out a Prince behind his back. If you think he can be worked with, tell him as much. If you think he could be trouble, present yourself as your average pre-teen bratty prince and get him to underestimate you.

I think our long term plan should be as follows:

1: Invest in weapons, arms, and ships.
2: Do everything in your power to keep tensions between your nation and Keshla high for a few years while our nation buys our arms.
3: In a few years we take the war to Keshla with private mercenary forces, and take as many islands as we can for ourselves. We can either install a loyal puppet emperor, or marry some Keshlian Highborn and claim a right to rule through marriage.
4: With any luck we can consolidate Analysse and Keshla under our control in the distant future.

I really think the guilds are a good idea(I know it's sorta mine, but so what?). Perhaps start rounding up a small work guild, for something like carpentry or perhaps the smithing. Yeah the silver moon sounds good to keep around. Also, what industries are there in the kingdom that could benefit from a guild?

I was embarrassed with the comment below. Thank you for making feel insecure.

I want to nip this sort of thing in the bud right away.
I know Thecard probably didn't mean anything by his comment, and I don't hold hard feelings for it, but I very much want to avoid mud slinging.

I was glad you offered something of an apology though card! ^^

If you don't like a point someone is making that's fine, debate, or if you have a suggestion for someone make sure it's constructive. That way you might get what you want out of the situation anyway and no one's feelings get hurt.

Let's have fun! Just be careful okay guys?

Excellent update mlamlah and i agree with weirdsound on his plan.

1. It would be cool to have a Personnel army/bodyguard unit {they could have yellow bandannas on their faces for coolness and distinction from the regular soldiers}.

2. Everything else on his plan sheet is fine with me.

3. If sekhon wants to control business and leave us out then we may need to ruin the economy first and send Capt. Varrock's men to break his body a bit. Ya know since his army is gone now.

Regarding the thing with the thing...that's fine no hard feelings.

Okay then first of all of this:

Plus let's continue to talk to the merchant faction in the city. Ask them about how the war fare's, needs they may have, goals, what their doing after the war, ask what they know about sekhon, and...offer them some equipment when we get our smith's guild up and running. Oh an let's see if we can get our brother of out of the palace for a walk around the yard or something he probably needs it.

Raynor Casar, Royal Prince of Analysse, popular claimant on the future crown.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You need to settle some scores, and with that in mind you send a message to Sekhon "requesting" his presence at the palace. A refusal on his part would merely give you ammunition against him, so he cannot refuse, and so you settle in for a leisurely wait in a palace audience chamber while you attend to the business of writing letters and some accounting. Surely enough he arrives nearly within the hour, and you've made the point of having only one chair at your table.

He's arrived with a personal bodygaurd, and two young servants, a boy and a girl, and all are Keshlan. He himself is tall, but lanky, and dressed in extremely elaborate robes. He's wearing an amount of jewlery that would seem ridiculous if it alone did not communicate such wealth. He wears all manner of rings, amulets and piercings, and his clothes are heavily embedded with jewels and chainmail made of precious metals.

As Sekhon bows appropriately you resist the urge to linger your eyes upon him, and instead continue to write a dull letter to a Baron's first son, thanking him for his pledged support. As you do so you speak, and do what you can to put on a bored air. "So, Sekhon Chakraborty -you stumble briefly over his name, and he politely corrects you-, it's come to my attention that you took advantage of my absence in order to purchase some of my property, i find this quite interesting... and i'm sure you can see why." You take a moment to put down your quill, and look at the man pointedly, "I understand you were quite powerful once, and that you may be quite eager to regain some of that power, though still, it took quite some audacity to risk displeasing someone who could very well become one of the most powerful men to sit around the bay of Mirdas. I think i am owed an explanation."

Sekhon stumbles a bit on his words briefly, though when he begins to speak in earnest you find that he speaks flawless Analyssian. He tells you outright that his intention was not to slight you neccecarilly, but rather to give his countrymen here in Analysse a sense of unity. He's been forming a guild of sorts with him as the head of the council that governs it, and he had hoped to one day return to Keshla as the driving force of what will doubtless initially be an economy in shambles. He says that he'd possibly be willing to work with you, but only if he can be assured that the partnership would be worthwhile for both him and the guild.
You're fairly sure that with your connections and business literacy your usefulness is assured, but you will need to consider how useful a guild of foreigners might be to you, and wether you should follow through with your plan to bankrupt and force them out of the country. You thank Sekhon for coming, tell him to give you a month to think, and dismiss him from your presence.

...

Verack you have a much more pleasant conversation with over wine and food the same night. You discuss the possibility of forming a much larger mercanary band under your very own patronage, with him and his band as only the first piece to the force you plan on creating. It's a prospect he is hesitant on on a few points, but it's not an idea he's adverse to, and you spend dinner with him haggling over details and planning for the future. Nothing is certain yet, but at least you have hardened warriors at your side should something go south.

You also make a point of including an order for a suit of armor for Barick in your message to the smith, it couldn't hurt to get more than one set of armor from the same smith after all, it will take some time to be made, but you doubt there will be any battles to fight just now.

Ok, so during that time, suggest to the foreign merchant that if he handles the worldly travels, you will partner with him, if he wishes of course. Oh, and, sigh, start filling out the paperwork for a metalsmithing guild.(SIGH)

Yeah, make sure he understands this is our city, but he can handle foreign things.
Just don't let him think he owns the damn place or anything.

Don't be any more harsh than you have to with him. At this point we both share the goal of kicking the rebels out of Keshla and getting rich in the process. There are enough riches to go around.

Here is the proposition for him: He sends Keshlains to Adalbert with the intention of buying up the people making and importing weapons at the source (They would more likely to sell to Keshlains than they would to people of our nation). You provide a good chunk of the money for this investment. You promise to work the court and nobles, and drive them to arm themselves with the intent to go to war against the Keshlain Rebels in a few years. Have the Keshlians and merchants under your control at Analysse invest in existing shipyards and build some new ones as well, so nobles can buy the navy they need for the job.

If everything works out, His homeland will likely be freed, and both you and him can get rich(er) in the process.
