She's mounted and Nomads get +2 MOV after attacking. They're all about hit-and-run tactics.

She's on Horseback...And Nomads have a bonus to move.

Also, would I be able to start with an Iron Halberd, or would it have to be an Iron Lance?

Has to be the starter weapon, sadly. Unless you come in really late, in which case Haspen might toss you a better one.

Well, he's got pale skin, dark hair, and a stubbly beard. He has big, thick, angular armor, and the helmet would have the visor up; preferably one of those 'beaked' helmets. His face is rather large in terms of width and facial features, at least comparatively, and he has a scar from one eye(not past it; directly from it) straight down his face, clipping the edge of his mouth. His usual expression would be one of mild regret but hope, but mostly acceptance.

Oh yeah, and the armor was painted dark red, but has been sloppily repainted a dark green. Mostly. It's not well done. The gold 'trim' got covered in some places. It is very well kept, though, even if he can't paint worth a damn...

I think I'll end up promoting to Great Knight, if I survive that long. Slow Start seems to fit my character well, and I just don't really like the Big Shield, not for this character. For a Soldier with lower defense and higher skill, it'd be different, though.

I wouldn't worry too much about your survivability. So long as you aren't actively causing detriments to the team, and you think about your actions before you take them, you'll likely be alright. Other players will be more than happy to get you back on your feet.

Sounds like a plan. Remember, if you got any questions we'll answer them, or if you just want general advice about the system or so such.

Hm... Looking at your sheet, Haspen might reject it though. The reason why is because you used the Knight's stats for the base instead of Soldier Trainee. Everything else is perfectly correct except for that small thing, which Haspen might just fix for you. That however depends on if he's still accepting trainees, those of us in the wait list aren't really sure what's going to happen there.

Also, agreed with BMM. As a knight, even just standing in place is useful. On that note, there is one thing I've always wondered about the Knight's ability. Can enemies still cross said square, or just not end on it?

"If the character with this skill hasn't used any of their
MOV points this turn, they can choose to spend all their
MOV to remain in place, and prevent the enemy from
entering melee range with the character until the start of
the character's next round."

It says it prevents them from entering melee range. I'd assume crossing it is impossible.

@Sirus: Grifen is adurble. Sheila will likely make her a surrogate little sister. Possibly forcefully.

I think it means the treat the area that would be within melee range for you as impassable terrain. Hey look, a three-tile wide hallway! Let's go have fun, archers...

@Xanmyral: I read that everyone who's joining in after the start of Chapter 1 is joining as First Class, which I thought meant everyone on the waitlist...
