Quote
Indezi Dragon whelp: don't finish it! "No, I don't remember it.". If she rips it from our mind, be all prophecy-ey about it!

Goddamn witch: See about healing the poor bugger, and be sure to explain to the town guard it's in its shackles again. Can't go getting our tools broken/confiscated.

What should our story be?
Demonize the bugger, (pun). Point to the poor guard he disfigured, and the field fire you caught him in the act of. Only through your quick-thinking and heroic actions is the menace muzzled! Plus: we get a free dragon! Don't look it in the mouth you fool!
This.  don't forget to appease companions tho.

Sorry, but the characters – and their opinion towards our true protagonist – have already been decided. We do have something quite close to the berserker however.

@GWG – I certainly appreciate your prose, but the other one „did“ have at least 5 votes or so after all. (And both share the same problem anyhow – we had like two or three seconds left at most, before our mind slipped away. And only 1 mana, for that matter.)

You do try to make your new possession talk to you, but something is holding it back from doing so. Obviously puppeteering it does work, and you guess winging the situation in that way might be possible. There is however little doubt that it is still conscious in some way. Draining it of all mana, and then taking off the amulet may be worth a try later on.

The guards at the keep let you pass without much trouble – it certainly paid itself that your team decided to leave a good part of the acquired bounty to the lord. Needlessly to say, you did so in exchange for handling the dragon – afterwards it was no problem at all to take control of the city-guard and the local mages were also most eager to help. What if they would have truly hunted it? Wasting such a chance would have been a shame. Well, in your point of view. The warpriest and his fable for the exciting and dangerous was only too pleased to involve himself with a dragon, while the warrior – being just simply the nice guy he always seems to be – saw it as a matter of his personal honour.

Entering the hallway that leads to your quarters, you see that both already seem to await your return... or the „visitor“.

The half-dwarf has changed into his official robes – he does like to wear others to spite the gods they belong to, as he serves quite the interesting one – Muwhun. In his name he refuses to heal all but life-threatening or combat-impairing wounds, as scars are an honour to be encouraged and to be displayed. Needless to say, you are very sure he has hidden the chainmail and studded leather underneath, a good idea as most try to stab him like they would do with any robed combatant. There were fights where the robe was in tatters afterwards. With a mental sigh you wonder why exactly your cleric is in most cases in front, instead of the more reasonably equipped warrior.

Speaking of which, the later has seen it fitting to remove his helmet. You are unsure why he would even wear the plate while in the city, considering that all this heat is supposedly driving him nuts, but that buissness is his own. He is very good at what he does thou, and that is mostly making sure that you stay safe in the back, and taking care of the reckless warpriest. He has always been the collected type, but right now he is as anxious and excited as someone of his race could ever be. You fail to see what his big deal is, as this is not the first dragon that he has ever seen – well, albeit this one not being a silent and mostly-sleeping bum might have something to do with that.

The vulpine beastman performs as deep a bow as his armour allows, and begins to talk. With no way of  her understanding him, and you luckily unable to talk – this might be quite the chance indeed. You hope she does not think of a good excuse, but who knows what this willy sorceress is capable off.

{ It is this ones great honour, to enjoy the blessings of your presence, Young Lord.* }

* The grammatical correct form of word usage would be „You who are of the Dragons“ - but since it strongly implies the speaker also to be one, it is not in use by the beastmen. They opt for the phrase of „One whose rule is above me“ instead. While a perfect excample of why Draconic „is“ percievably the most difficult language in „This World“, it is not any implication of serfdom.

Well then, if you want to name someone on the team, go ahead. The discussion about possible magics the sorceress might know is also still open. Else, enjoy~

I am a bit torn if I should take the risk of you naming them, or even choose the specific schools of the sorceress.

How many schools are we talking, here? I'm thinking roughly the following order of preference:
Enchanter/Elementalist/Druid/Conjurer/Alchemage/Necromancer/Warlock/Demonologe/Illusionist

Move warlock up that list.

Speedy's names aren't outlandish enough, specially the beastman's. -1

I can see Mr. Beastman getting upset when we can't reply.

Witch: DON'T EVER LET THE DRAGON TALK TO THE BEASTMAN EVER. Call attention to the fires we started, and claim we struggled to the end- she had to use the amulet. Did we ever get the whelp healed?

Claim the whelp is still traumatised from the modifications old master made, and can't speak outside of master bond?

Sounds good! In fact, casting him as the poor, traumatized whelp that's only functioning & not going crazy because of our succor should strike a better chord with the fool-beastman!

Names:
 Sorceress = Bad Lady
 warpriest = Weird Thing
 Fighter = Help Me

Magic = primary enchantment with lots of elementalism and a bit of warlock.

Sorceress:
Claim the whelp is still traumatised from the modifications old master made, and can't speak outside of master bond?

Dragon: study the beastman, then study the amulet.

Actually, we might want to hold off on that: delaying will allow a) possibly learning magic from the sorceress, b) gaining information about the group, c) relative safety to improve our skills and such, plus learn more about society, the surroundings, etc, d) treasure/profit?, e) getting the sorceress off-guard, f) making sure the party is away from help when the inevitable split/backstab comes, ahahaha...

Also, that order preference was carefully chosen to give a good chance of fitting a theme, that theme being WINGED MONKEYS YES. Frankly anything past Alchemage was only put there because I figured, hells, may as well order the whole lot.

When did "Get Help" become "Kill this sorceress" in the Oxford dictionary?

My point.

How would being friendly with the fighter stop us from learning wisdom from the wizard?
