I'm pretty sure that our mistress has 100% control over our mana. She did mention draining our reserves, after all.

That may be a spell she has access to, rather than an inherent property of the link.

The original pages also mention that our master drained a significant amount of our mana to create the self-destruct rune. Pretty sure it's inherent.

Actually, there was some cheering for our fair troll-maiden when she entered the city with you in tow. I did not include it, as I found it more important to get the story along – but yeah, you did gain 5 mana there. As was pointed out already, a familiar can be drained of its mana, and the magician can also give it access to his own pool. No, our new master is too wary for now as to allow such things to happen. Hmhm.. about time to figure out what to give these guys, without making them too OP of a team. Difficult.

After the discussion between the two men has somehow turned towards drinking, and if mead really is superior to wines made of fruit, you take leave to your quarters. You do suppose that a little bit healing won't hurt, and have a small sipp of a healing potion left over. While it certainly did not heal the welp completely, it is a bit better now
. Indezi: HP +1

You consider the strain that you have put on yourself, and do decide that an early afternoon nap is in order. Conserving her face is a ladies duty after all. Not that you are nobility, but with your power you actually already had to refuse several offers to work at royal courts.

Weary as you are, you drain the dragon from all of its useable mana – draining it truly of all mana would obviously be a death-sentence, as all living things need a bit. Then again you are quite sure that siphoning off that thoroughly is only possible with a ritual, and you do not plan on doing so.

Taking note that everything is in order with your familiar-connection, you procceed towards your hard-earned napping.

A~nd she goes quiet. Sure, you are in a cage and even holding your own breath would be above you, but at least when she is asleep her talking stops. You really hope that she likes to sleep. At some part – it seemed like she was having a nightmare or another similiar emotion-ladden dream – her control slips by a fair amount, but currently there is not much you can do.

At some point in the evening, the dwarf enters after his knocking has not been awnsered – she is to be presentable at the banquet in her honour in two hours – but he only adresses your incagement with a satisfied nod. While the stuff she thinks about only come to you when more fully aware, there was something about the dwarf mocking strong entities? You at least get the feeling like that, and reason to yourself that this might extend to you.

Immediately after the dwarf has woken her up, the control snaps back, leaving you to see her angry reaction absent-minded.

Really now, that uncouth cleric. You are quite aware that he would rather bash in some skulls than lust after the flesh of women, but that makes his behaviour not acceptable. Somehow, it might even be worse. Anyways, there is another show to attend. Hoping that the lord does not want another magical one out of you – the nerve of some people – there is the matter of where to go next.

You ponder the matter for a while – the half-dwarf does have a point with the demon-army that has been building up. Or rather, the army that is led by a demon, as there are only two handfull of extraterrestials in there at most – and even then this number is dominated by those that have mortal blood mixed in their veins. After the inital influx of demonic cults into the lines of said army, they soon found out that this one does not share love for his kind, seeing them as much as a threat to his rule as the churches and historicans claim some forms of demons to be.

While that does sound interesting – and dangerous, very much so – some general adventuring might be better suited for now. You obviously plan on researching the dragon further under any circumstances – to think that such small a whelp could actually already spew fire goes against all previous insights.

Deciding that it would be too much of a bother, you just wear your usual robes in the end, hoping that you will be able to converse with your companions about mentioned matters soon-ish.

oh goodie. we have lost our money to the sorceress. that was just plain cruel. I can only hope the beast man figures out that the sorcerer is lying to him soon or we are done for.

Hopefully the cage will be too much for him.

Any suggestions as to which direction the sorceress wants to steer the party? There will still be a bit of chance involved, but it's better than leaving all of it up to the dice, no?

But yeah. Why would she ever take a  -mostly - mud-baked pouch from us, especially if we won't be able to use the money withour her ordering us to do so. Maybe we should be glad that she has no fetish for dressing us in frilly clothes.  :P

*shudders* I, too, am thankful for that.

Anyways...I'd say that the sorceress should try to get them to suggest the group stay in town a while longer, so she can study the familiar.

+1 to influencing the bond, and try to recover mana somehow(and HP)

If making adventurers stay in the town can help us escape/recover, +1 to that as well

Not really enough exposition to suggest anything other than 'stay' or 'go', and even then we don't know the full consequences of those paths.

Still voting for expo on where we came from, why we came here, what we were doing and what we were planning. Including possible plans.

All we know now is what we weren't doing: offensively partaking in the demon war.

And that's the way we should keep it, now that we have a familiar. The familiar could probably rebel if we were to fight its demonic brethren, or said demons could capture it and use it for intel or--worse--to create a race of demon-dragons to terrorize the land with!

Also, wars are deadly.

Are you trying to preempt possible un-suggested suggestions again?
