I'm still reading, but here:
The fire plan was good when we weren't discovered, it was night, the sorceress was completely exhausted and we could spend an hour or two preparing. Now the timing's all off- in fact it's just about the worst time to try implementing it. :/
Instead, what can we do to help our situation right now?
Questions: Do the guards still see us? (are those ahead just generally guarding the gate, or do they know we're on this rooftop right now?)
How much foliage is outside the gate? (Is there a huge clearing outside where they could run us down with horses, or do the trees start literally right outside the gate?)
From the most recent perspective, it looks like we could glide straight out the gate. Is this the case, or would we need to be closer, (and have more stamina)?
Thoughts (not in any particular order):
Use an illusion or three to make a couple guards sure they'd seen us peek out and then run back out of view down an alley. Hopefully, the rest of the troops will follow and leave the gate clear.
-Use two visual illusions simultaneously, and then after our illusion's gone behind the corner, follow it up with an auditory of a woman screaming around the corner. (step two: make a break for the gate after they're all running down the alley)
Rest for a minute, (very very short rest), and see if we can get a bit of stamina back.
-almost done reading, but just thought of something..It's almost stupidly risky, but it might work: expend all our mana & hide normally. Assuming the guards don't know we're on
this roof
right now, we may be able to slip away to a hiding place, and those mages will have a harder time tracking us, (some kind of magical creature), if we don't have any mana.
-another question & remark:
So we get mana from our own emotions? Hrm.
Do we get mana from the emotions of animals as well?
