I've started the TV show first, gave up after 5 episodes.

Now I've started the books and in a week I'm at the last 100 pages of Game of Thrones. I need to find the second book or I'm going to die :I

And fuck, someone dies almost every chapter. Or gets raped. Or poisoned. Or enslaved.

I love the books.

Started waching the show because I was bored. 1 night, 7 episodes, and a ridiculously high number of sex scenes later... I'm happy.

So that was ridiculous. Looks like all the setup in the beginning of the season is kicking off into full-fledged war and political zaniness.

Spoiler: S03E05 (click to show/hide)

Other note: my friend just lent me the first book, so I'm going to start reading that. I'm going to try to avoid reading past ACOK before the season ends, but I might not be able to do that.
Let me know when you catch up to speed. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it all. :D

Also rather strangely in this episode Tyrion used 'quite' with the British definition whereas ex-Maester Qyburn used it with the American definition.

*On further analysis it appears Patchface is indeed gone for the long haul. Shireen sings his song and there's no indication of him ever being present.
You knew nothing Jon Snuh, the Dothraki are not known - only Patchface did know, DOHOHOHO~

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO

And so the show has steered well away from the future books, or they've quite possibly fucked up an arc. Either way, goodbye.

As long as Shireen picks up the prophecies stick it should be all good.
