Definitely buy a hullcutter and armored suits so we can "salvage"  vessels.

Oh and do we need to buy fuel or do do we run off subspace capacitors?

Should probably send Granite off to buy a rifle while were here.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

If the salvaging license and ship permit have our name on it, then we are "Smith. Captain." Lets not tell them too much.

If not, we are "Roberts. Captain Jon Roberts."

Do this.

Also, before going on flights of fancy, consider how much 1793 credits really is in layman's terms. As in, what quantity of moderate-quality booze, guns and prostitutes can you buy with that.

"I'm Jon Roberts, Captain of this here ship the Lazarus."

With that you began to rail off requests for various things, some breaching tools, a few armored suits, and the like since you'll need them to augment your currently small amount of salvage gear. After that you ask about any salvage jobs they may have, and the man gets a thoughtful look upon his face, after a few seconds one of his guards whispers something into his ear and he speaks up,

"Our head mechanic just got his evaluation done, with all the internal damage and external it's gonna cost around 1170 credits to do a full repair though the scans he did say your damaged engine is gonna need a full shipyard to repair. We can also just do external repairs along with replacing the ship's armor for about 670 credits. We can have your ship repaired as best we can in around four days (two if you only go for repairing external damages), as for work we might have something you can do both while your waiting for repairs to complete and after they're done. I'll explain while we wait for your requests to be processed."

Time passes quickly as the man explains the various contracts he has open for you, and then helps you browse what data they do get back regarding your requests. When you ask about the book the man explains he likes to keep physical evidence of those who arrive along with that in the database to make it harder for such evidence to 'disappear'. After a few more minutes he leaves, leaving behind one of the guards to bring back your finalized plans when your done thinking it through.

We currently have $1793.
I vote we Take the full repair. (-$1170 = $623) It is significantly more expensive, but I think its worth it in the long run.
Purchase:

Then, salvage a ship. (+$700 = $724) See if they will lend us a ship to get there.

Agreed except asking them to lend us a ship.

Buy the guns and fix the engine then go repair the freighters, could be space pitates broke the vessel.

Also i vote we get a ship based hull cutter asap, speed could be essential in salvaging a ship before another party comes to claim it.

You cant fix the engines at the station, you'll need to go to an actual shipyard to repair those.

In that case, purchase the supplies, plus a ship mounted hull cutter, and salvage a ship, then we should get the ship fixed up. Then we can go and salvage the rest of the ships.

Consider whether our damaged engine would be good enough to actually tow another ship at any appreciable acceleration and confer with engineer on this matter, since that might not be the case. After the fellow leaves, ask crew about the state of armament on the ship. Only then do any buying and stuff.

I doubt it'll be. I even doubt we have the gear to tow stuff. Momentum in space is dangerous, and a fairly could result in stuff slamming into the station, or the towed ship being torn apart.

I even doubt we have a tow.

The job for the ship salvage doesn't specify towing, just bringing station engineers to the ships so they can fix them.

I would vote for taking at least one of the salvage jobs, and bribing the engineer(s) into taking a look at our own ship's engines on the way to the broken down ship(s).
