I dont know it first hand as i usually dont use bombers and dont have a high enough crew for one, but i heard multiple times you really need to train the gunner crews for them to be usefull.

I've heard that even with ace training the gunners can't shoot for shit.  I think the guns themselves might be off somehow, even in manual aim I almost never seem to be able to hit anyone, though when I do it usually shreds them.

Speaking of skills, how significant is the boost from vitality?  Lately I've been losing a lot of planes to insta-KO lucky shots which is by far the worst way to lose a plane.

From what I've seen, either way a shot straight to the cockpit is going to kill your pilot regardless. I have never actually had a situation where my pilot was only injured, and not just flat out killed.

Bombers got nerfed by the recent patch. It seems bomb damage got reduced. And skilled gunners are notorious for missing their shots. I believe Gaijin will rebalance this going forward, but at this stage there isn't enough incentive to play heavy bombers.

I am still having fun with fast bombers like A-20 and Peshka, though.

Also, anyone else finding Aircobras to be amazing in arcade? I like it more than my Yaks and Spitfires and have been having more kills with it than any other fighters.

I get on average 6 kills per Airacobra and Kingcobra I put out. 37mm cannons are just dirty.

Bombers have not been nerfed, rather rebalanced. Whereas before a bomb would do equal damage in its splash radius, it now just has the damage concentrated. As such, you can now destroy heavy tanks with 50kg bombs. You just gotta be accurate with your bombers

Oh that explains why I have been getting less ground target kills with my bombers. Well, it is a rebalance indeed, I guess many players are too used to the old bomb damage mechanics...

I do well in my Airacobras, but not exceptionally well. About equally as well as I do in my Bf-109s. or my Yaks, when I play them. Still, I do much better in my Airacobras than I do in any of the US navy fighters I've unlocked so far, but that's probably more a comment again, on the guns, (damn .50 cals) than the rest of the plane.
